big YMMV here.

Technically newegg is a US store, I think then even ship from the states; unlike tigerdirect which ships from ontario - which even there futureshop often refuses to pricematch.

I would go for the new linksys linux n-router from NCIX instead.

Buy the WRT610N at CanadaComputers if you really want it for $170.

Dual band and dual radio WRT610N >> WRT160NL

I remember when these used to be $129 when they first came out last year. For some reason, the price is at $200+ now.

Its probably eaiser to PM staples and use a $20 off coupon, even though you'll get hit with the shipping charge, atleast you wont have such a hard time PMing staples.

For those who want good router performance (even better than the WRT610N! but lacking in some other areas) in terms of speed and range but don't need the storage port, the WRT400N (also dual band) is excellent for only $120.

The reason to get the WRT610 over the WRT400N is cause DD-WRT supports the 610N and there is no support for the 400N right now.

I fought with my 610 for a month before I got it working correctly (3 calls to tech suport later)

It's a decent unti, but don't expect it to work perfectly out of the box.

You'll also have to elevate it as it can get quite hot and quit operating properly (ie dropped connections)

To take advantage of the Dual band, you'll need to purchase either the dualband wireless card or USB network adapter. Both are on sale at Bestbuy.ca this week

USB

wireless card (cheapest I've seen it)
