Wondering which toys are topping tots’ wish lists this holiday season?
With so many products to choose from it can be confusing, but don’t worry – the RedFlagDeals.com elves have been busy scouring the toy industry’s most-popular toy lists of 2011, and we’re ready to lend a shopping hand.
The hottest toys range from learning tablets to zombie labs, and to help you decide which is right for your little one, we’ve highlighted these top-ten options for you:
-
LeapPad Explorer Learning Tablet
A Canadian Toy Testing Council 2012 Children’s Choice Award Winner, this touch-screen tablet is a video game system, camera/video camera, e-reader and educational tool all in one. With more than 100 cartridge games, downloadable apps, digital books, videos and flash cards available, you’ll finally get your iPad/iPhone back from your four year old! The LeapPad has turned out to be this year’s Zhu Zhu Pet or Cabbage Patch Doll, so you’re in for a challenge if you don’t already have one. Online retailers are warning that they will not be restocked until February 2012, but LeapFrog.ca’s Facebook page assures desperate parents that limited stock will continue to ship to stores such as Toys R Us, Walmart, Zellers, Costco and Chapters. Recommended for ages 4-9.
-
Sesame Street Let’s Rock Elmo
Elmo is rocking the Hot Holiday Toy Lists again in 2011, this time with the Sesame Street Let’s Rock Elmo. In his latest toy incarnation, this interactive Elmo has a microphone, tambourine, and drum set. Features six songs and can interact with other Let’s Rock instruments (sold separately). And if Elmo needs to take five, kids can play along on his instruments as well. Recommended for ages 18 months – 4 years.
-
Fisher Price Imaginext Bat Cave
Holy holidays, Batman! This Bat Cave from Imaginext is likely to impress your little super heroes with four levels of play, a flashing Bat signal, a mechanical claw to work on the Batcycle, a secret entrance, a turnstile, a launcher, telescope and more. Includes Batman and Robin figures. Recommended for ages 3-8.
-
Hasbro Fur Real Cookie My Playful Pup
While we wouldn’t recommend getting a really puppy at Christmas, the Fur Real version is another story. Cute and cuddly Cookie My Playful Pup gives you all the benefits of a new canine companion – she “eats” treats, plays, wags her tail – with none of the clean-up or late-night walking! Recommended for ages 5 – 7.
-
Spinmaster Doctor Dreadful Zombie Lab
Not for the faint of stomach, Spinmaster’s Doctor Dreadful Zombie Lab allows your little mad scientists to create a variety of disgusting, yet edible, concoctions. What’s on the menu? Everything from a “brain barf beverage” to eye sockets injected with spiders…hungry yet? Recommended for ages 5-15.
-
Nerf Vortex Nitron
Nothing says Merry Christmas like a “full-auto storm of discs toward targets at extreme range for an all-out assault.” The fully automatic Nerf Vortex Nitron features a cutting-edge acceleration trigger, electronic scope, and a removable 20-disc magazine. Recommended for ages 8-14.
-
Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Starter Set
Have your kids run out of Hot Wheels floor space? Then it’s time to take the action above ground with the Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Starter Set. Tracks adhere to the wall with the included 3M Command Strips to create a whole new Hot Wheels experience! Comes with one die-cast vehicle and a variety of interchangeable tracks and stunts. Recommended for ages 5-7.
Easy Bake Ultimate Oven
A holiday toy classic returns with a 21st Century makeover – the new electric Easy Bake Ultimate Oven no longer comes with the hand-scorching, super-hot light bulbs of the good old days, but it does come with a baking pan, cupcake pan, pan pusher, chocolate chip cookie mix, red velvet cake mix, pink frosting mix, rainbow sugar crystals package, paper cupcake wraps, instructions and a recipe booklet. Recommended for ages 8-11.
Crayola Crayon Maker
Wondering what to do with all of the broken crayons your children have accumulated? Have your resourceful little artists give them new life with the Crayola Crayon Maker! This crafty toy melts down old crayon bits and pieces and transforms them into new and improved crayons. Recommended for ages 6-11.
Fijit Friends Interactive Toy
Everyone knows the best friends are the robotic ones who can perform lifelike dance moves. Meet Fijit Friends – poke them, squeeze them, or play your own music to turn them into dancing machines. Fijits will recognize your child’s voice and even tell jokes. With friends like these, who needs friends? Recommended for ages 6-11.
