Dell.ca Windows 7 Upgrade Promotion
Dell.ca has taken the wraps off its Windows 7 Upgrade Promotion. If you purchase an eligible PC between June 26, 2009 and January 10, 2010 you'll be able to reserve a free upgrade to Windows 7. Once Windows 7 is released, you'll get a DVD with the free upgrade.
For the time being, it looks like all consumer Dell PCs (Inspiron, Studio, and XPS lines, as well as the Adamo) qualify. Although we expect a similar offer will be available for Vostro, Latitude and other business lines, it hasn't been announced yet.
All Vista configurations besides Vista Home Basic have free Windows 7 upgrades. The upgrade structure is laid out on the bottom right of the Dell page.

Have you ever lost work or something else important on your computer because of a had a power outage or power surge? If your answer was yes, and it's something you'd like to avoid, a UPS, or uninterruptible power supply, is something you may want to invest in. The Kodak Wide Angle lens looks pretty interesting. By the looks if it, if your camera can take 55mm filters or you have a 55mm filter adapter, this lens will probably work. User reviews at Amazon.com (38 in all) are very positive -- generating an average rating of 4/5. At Amazon.ca, this lens is on sale for $129.49, so Buy.com's offer looks tough to beat.
Shipping is free on orders over $30, so if you're considering lower cost items, you need to get creative or call some friends and relatives!

TradePub.com, a magazine service that offers free subscriptions and samples to qualified individuals, is offering 4 issues of Business Week and their digital playbook: Power Plays for free! Subscriptions are free as long as you work in an industry relevant to their intended demographics.
If you qualify and you like what you see, you can continue the subscription with 21 more issues for $20 Canadian, or 46 additional issues for $30. Either package works out to less than a dollar per issue, which is also well below newsstand pricing. You do have to select a subscription option right off the bat, but you can just keep the 4 issues and owe nothing by marking the bill "cancel" and returning it.

Photoxpress and stock.xchng Royalty Free Stock Photos for Commercial Use
Small businesses and freelancers often need stock photography for use on websites, brochures, or other materials. It used to be a lot more expensive to find quality stock photos but with the Internet you can now find some pretty good photos for a few dollars to hundreds of dollars depending on the quality and what you're looking for. Now with Photoxpress and stock.xchng you can get stock photography for professional and commercial use absolutely free!
Both sites are quite similar - they both have about 400,000 royalty free stock photos, require registration, and have limitations on what you can use them for. The details are a bit more complicated than that but in short, you can use it for professional or commercial use with the proper attribution for the pictures. Check it out and we hopefully it can save your business a few bucks.
