Products are good, service is mediocre, stock is abysmal

Comment:I always enjoyed going to Ikea. It's an hour or more drive away, though, so I call ahead to check stock of sale items (or, if it's a purpose drive trip, of the specific item I'm looking for).
Their stock system is absolutely useless. I called during a sale and was informed 100+ of the item was in stock, and that only ~3 would sell today. Of course, I didn't believe the latter, but the amount in stock seemed fine.
Of course, zero in actual stock when I arrived an hour later. Asked the staff about it and they said they'd sold out quite a bit earlier. No rainchecks, despite my situation. Their stock system is so terrible, when I called back after they closed, their stock system indicated NONE had sold, so still 100+ in stock.
Get into the new millennium, guys! Your stock should be either updated live, hourly, or, AT A BARE MINIMUM, updated when the store closes. Ikea does none of this.
