Fraudulent Advertising

Bought item and indicated a ship date 2 weeks later.... Now cancelled and without even an email. At the time of purchase I decided to buy the item from dell as opposed to a local retailer who had it for the same sale price. Now the item is not longer on sale at the local retailer. Been takn before by dell so I guess 1 time shame on you but second time shame on me. Dell you lost my business permanently. Also, why is dell's rating relatively high given they have had sooo many complaints.

Would never order any computer stuff from Dell.ca

During Dell's great promotions in the early October I was stupid enough to order an i7 XPS laptop as "deal of the day". Blueray, etc ... Oder was "in Production" for almost a month and suddenly was canceled (sic!). No notifications, just happend to log-in and discover this. Dell claims that orders are not cancelable nor changeable! A new order was issued with delivery date pushed further to December. Contacted Customer Service by e-mail. Got a reply that DELL wants to resolve the issue but will not provide any concessions or compensation. After looking closer at the new (placed by Dell itslef!) order I found that Bluray optical drive in the original order was replaced by the mere DVD+/RW, which is at least $150 less than Bluray (That was actually the DEAL OF THE DAY - upgrade to Bluray!). Called in. CSR refused to talk suggesting to wait until the order arrives and call then. The laptop is over 15 hundred bucks and they cheat on the components!

Absolute joke

I ordered the Viewsonic Pro8100 from the Dell Days of Deals on the 7th of October. I chose the financing option and my order and financing was confirmed that same day. A couple days later I checked my account to see what was happening with the order and it said processing. A couple days later it said cancelled but there was a new order number and that said processing. Today, 16th of October, I checked again and the order said cancelled. I called customer service to find out what was happening with my order. I was bounced around to several departments and finally transferred to sales where they told me the item was no longer available or delisted. When I placed the order there was stock so how could the item become unavailable after placing the order shouldn't one have been saved for me, I asked the rep. He didn't have much of an answer and transferred me again. I was transferred to the account rep who was handling my financing. She told me that this happens all the time with special sales items, that they don't always have stock to match the demand and that many people would not get their items. I could not believe idiocy of this business practice. "so dozens if not hundreds of people are now angry and not getting their items", I asked her. "Yes", she replied. It's no wonder there is so much negative feedback in the ratings for Dell Canada. I asked what they would do for me to compensate for this debacle. $40!!! $40 discount on a $1400 item. When I laughed at this feeble gesture the account rep said, "well the best I can offer is $70 and that's a really good deal because normally it's only $30". The item I was purchasing was a $1400 projector and they offer me a lousy $70 discount. Pathetic. When I ordered an item from Adidas Canada online and they had an inventory mix up they gave me a one time 40% discount on any order in the store no matter what value AND without me even asking AND before I even knew that I wasn't getting the item. That's customer service. My conversation was getting me nowhere, I was just wasting my breath and time so I told the account rep to cancel my account and destroy all my finance information. I ended the conversation by telling her I would not be purchasing anything further from Dell and advising others to do the same...and I won't and now I have. The really embarrassing part is the account rep sent me an email (to confirm cancelling my account) after our conversation with the following quote at the bottom, "Customer Experience is very important to us. Please forward any feedback about myself or Dell Canada to my manager". Oh I will!! BUYER BEWARE!!

Ordered a laptop and was not satisfied. Called to request a refund. Was redirected SO MANY times to different parts of India. Finally spoke to a rep who "wanted to make me happy". He offered me a $100 credit to be used in the next month + $50 cash back if I kept the laptop. I told him I wanted a refund. Told me I'd have to spend $100 to ship it back to Dell (that their depot was located in Texas) plus lose 15% in restocking. Dell's website (which I read before hand) said they do not charge a restocking fee ( http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/new_alt_dsn_166770?c=ca&cs=cadhs1&l=en&s=dhs ). Strike one. So basically I was losing HALF of my purchase price returning this item. Strike two. I received my waybill info today to return the item to RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO, not Texas. Called Customer Service to complain about the discrepancy on their website and that I should not be charged restocking. Got transferred to Mumbai, or Delhi or Bombay and finally landed with a useless rep who said to call tomorrow when her supervisor was available. Dell........... never again. I hate you with every bone in my body and will make it my mission to ensure everyone I meet knows how low down and dirty you filthy corrupt people are.

I ordered many things from Dell: A bag, surge protector, external HDD. All great and arrived in 1-2 days after purchase! However I ordered a Dell PC and it was hell. Took the full 2 weeks to reach the shipping date (usually my items arrived BEFORE the ship date) and then it wasn't even shipped. My CPU was on back order apparently (never notified). I had to spend hours on support being transfered a total 7 times until someone could match my order # to my name JUST so I can get a status update.
