price match guarantee is a joke

Wanted to buy Western digital HD media player live. Best buy price- 149.99 on sale Reg. 169.99 Compu 2000- BC based retailer price- 119.99 for the week of Jan. 11, 2009. Went to my local best buy and requested for a price match. They said they will do the price match for 119.99 plus $40 shipping charge!! Couldn't believe they wanted to consider shipping while buying in the store. After a little arguments, buddy agreed to price match for $140 which i didn't agree. then he got an open boxed product saying this is the last piece he had and wanted to sell that for $135. I still didn't agree and later on I found out that they had 6 more brand new pieces sitting on the shelf! lier!! What a joke!! Next day my buddy got the same price match done from another Best buy. He told me and I went to that Best buy and requested the same price match. I was shocked to here NO again. This time the excuse was, Compu2000 does not have the same return policy as best buy. Best buy has 30 day return or exchange and compu2000 has only 30 day exchange. What a joke again!! Since when did they start comparing return policies for price match? Does it say in their return policy? NO. What about my buddy who just got the same price match from the same store couple hours ago? The answer was, "I don't know who did it but he/she shouldn't have done it" Finally she agreed to give me price match for 119.99 but refused to do 10% of the difference according to their original policy saying that she was doing me a favour. The only reason I took her so called favour because I wanted to get rid of the Best buy GC that I had which I couldn't use anyways because of their internal system error and my GC showing 0 balance. But that is the whole different story. Try staples for the price match and you will never face problems.

Answered all my email questions in one to two days. Shipments were prompt (though delivery cross country took a few days). They shipped out in two shipments one day apart when one item was not immediately available. I would have had no problem with them holding up the first shipment for a day to ship altogether. Packing was top notch: part of buy was 2 hard discs and they were packed extremely good: individual foam cradles for the discs, air pockets padding around that. Read enug horror stories on how some retailers shipped hard discs. Products all worked, no probem (2 hard d, hdmi cable, graphic card). Only wish list: can pay by bank transfer, the credit card payment took a few calls to set up.

Bought a few computer parts online, found a price that was cheaper at another site, went in store to get their 10% price match, they refused to do it because they "don't match online prices" but I bought it online! fast shipping, but beware... there are cheaper prices out there!

Very Poor Customer Service - On-line buying guarantee

I recently tried to buy an ipod touch for my son at Bestbuy.ca. The item was ordered on 26th Dec and today is 24th Jan and I have still not received the item. If you call Best Buy they try their best not to take questions. However I finally got their customer service and inquired regarding the order status. They blame this on Canada Post and say that once an inquiry for trace is filled with Canada Post (in my case on 9th Jan) they took until 21st Jan to provide a tracking no. Then you've to wait for another 10-15 business days before Canada Posts come back and say that they find or not find your item. After which it takes Best Buy another 10-15 days before they refund your credit card. In the meantime your credit card bill is getting charged interest and no ownership from best buy. They ask you to look at the terms and condition page on their website. Please read the terms and conditions on best buy webstie before you buy. It's not ebay where you can provide a negative rating. Best Buy is in control as when you receive your money back and there is no ownership.

Poor customer service

Comment:
I bought 4 gamepads. They were quick to have them ready. When I got there first they were rung in at regular price. Then they gave me hassle on price matching futureshop because 'futureshop would not pick up the phone' even though they have the same business hours. To top it off when I paid for it they asked for ID to use my credit card even though it has my picture on the back. What should have been a 1 minute transaction took me almost 20 minutes.
