Looking for some guidance or extra resources to consult about your career? We've come across some interesting freebies at OfficeTeam.com. OfficeTeam is a large temporary staffing service for administrative professionals.
You can request for a variety of guides to be mailed to you directly (yes, Canadians are eligible). Some of the items of interest include a 2010 Salary Guide, a Word/Excel Quick Reference, an A to Z Business Etiquette Guide, and more. For something to read right away, they have a short PDF eBook called Earning the Recognition You Deserve that you can download.

New: Paid Canadian Online Surveys @ Surveys.RedFlagDeals.com, $5 When You Sign Up

Free American Sign Language Tutorials/Lessons Online
Looking for something interesting to do with your spare time? We've spotted a freebie worth checking out. If you head over to the website called the American Sign Language University, you'll find a lot of free resources for American Sign Language. This includes plenty of tutorials, quick lessons, and courses -- everything you need to start learning sign language. The site is operated by William Vicars, an Asst. Professor of ASL and Deaf Studies at California State University.
Some good places to start include "Lesson 1" or "First 100 Signs". Very cool!

Freebie: Autumn Splendour Photo Buff Guided Walking Tour @ High Park on October 25 (GTA)
Fall is here, and while the weather is getting cooler, fall foliage is always a sight to behold. If you're in the GTA, you can get active and take part in some scheduled, free guided hikes in High Park, which occur monthly on every second and fourth Sunday morning. One is coming up this Sunday (October 25) -- the Autumn Splendour Photo Buff Walk.
Hikes last 1.5 hours and are moderately paced. They are led by volunteer scientists, historians, and naturalists. Visit HighPark.org and navigate to the "Walking Tours" button in the middle of the page for more information. Alternatively, you can download the walking tour schedule directly here.
You can also call 416-392-1748 ext. 5 for more information. These walks are free and organized by the High Park Nature Centre, the High Park Community Advisory Council, High Park Initiatives and Colborne Lodge, but donations are welcome.
