VistaPrint.ca Free Custom Hanes T-Shirt, Pay Shipping Only

VistaPrint.ca is back with free custom printed t-shirts again. If you saw this deal last month, you'll know that it's free with a catch, you have to pay for shipping which is about $5.10 to Toronto. The shirt itself is a Hanes pre-shrunk 100% cotton shirt available in S, M, L, XL and XXL. The free shirt is only available in white but you can customize it with text on one of their template designs. Customize it further by uploading a logo, photo, or design for another $5.99.
It's a fun and very easy to use process and since it's cheap you can experiment, take a look at the results, and order more if you need it. Even if you're not a small business it could make a really neat gift.

I launched RedFlagDeals.com way back during the holiday shopping season of 2000.  When the site first launched, during the first few months, we only had about 50 people per day visiting and I wondered whether it was even worth continuing on. Back then I could never have imagined that one day we’d have more than 100,000 members interested enough in what we’re doing to sign up and share. Now the numbers speak for themselves: over 100,000 members, over 750,000 monthly unique visitors, and over 18 million pageviews a month!

Almost everything on RedFlagDeals.com is free to use and accessible without registering, so to me it’s an amazing achievement that so many of you have taken that next step and signed up to be involved. There’s no way we would be able to stay on top of all the deals and have cross-Canada coverage without your member contributions – and to that I thank you!

Thanks to everyone who has ever mentioned RedFlagDeals.com to any of their friends, family, or co-workers. The site’s popularity has always been driven by word of mouth and without everyone out there talking about the site, there’s no way we could have reached this milestone.

There’s no question that this is Canada’s Bargain Hunting Community and I couldn’t be prouder of the site and everyone who is part of it. This is an incredible group of people who all share a passion for shopping, sharing, and saving money and I’m just glad to help facilitate it. If you’re not a member yet, now is a great time to sign up as the deals heat up for the summer. I’m looking forward to adding even more tools, content, and features (hint: check back later this week…) to help you save money in the future and I can’t wait till we hit 1 million!

Free Civilization III Mod for Canadian Students

In one of the more creative initiatives we’ve seen lately, HistoriCanada has released a downloadable modification for Civilization III for the PC that they describe like this:

The History Canada Game lets you relive, replay and even rewrite Canada’s history. Play as the English to expand your empire. Play as the Huron to defend your homeland. Wage wars, make peace and explore new lands...the future of Canadian history is in your hand.

If you don’t currently have a copy of Civilization III, they plan on making 100,000 copies of the game available to K-12 students soon through schools and direct distribution.  You can find a few more details from this GameSpot article.

Free & Legal Music Downloads from we7.com

The latest in “free” music from the internet has an interesting twist that may have you hooked; it’s free for you but the artists get paid. That’s right, the musicians profit from the same music you get for free on we7.com, a new advertising-driven website for media downloads. It’s a great idea - bands sign up and get paid royalties every time their song is downloaded. Meanwhile, we7.com can afford to pay them by selling the ad. space around the site. In fact, the ads. are at a very sophisticated level; a technology called MediaGraft ‘grafts’ a highly pertinent audio or video advert onto each digital entertainment track selected that accompanies it off the site and onto your player in a 5 second advert clip, or similar. But the music remains clean, free and legal.

There is a catch though - we7.com is new and needs your help. While you can register now to begin downloading very safe, legal, and - dare we say it - ethical music, it will take a little while before you hear the latest tracks on this service. Says the CEO, Steve Purdham - ”By the summer you will see us introduce a full community site where you will be able to hear new bands, decide which music gets published and communicate with other fans. As we gain momentum we will dramatically increase the number of tracks and genres available to you to download free, safe and legally.” So, this may be a deal that is “in progress” and the support of a savvy audience will be the key to its success.

Check out the tunes so far (which right now include Dave Matthews, Herbie Hancock, and Coolio) and let us know what you think!
