In terms of components, it looks nearly identical to the Vostro 430 (although Vostro 430 in question has Windows 7 Professional while this XPS 8000 has Home Premium). Where the Studio XPS 8000 differs much more us case design. The Studio XPS 8000 has little more more style with a black face and white sides and top. It also has a built in card reader and some neat additions on top of the case -- a power button and USB/audio ports in a tray. An easy-access power button and a tray for use with USB keys, charging phones or MP3 players or even holding change sounds very handy. You can check out some screenshots of the case here.

Dell Quad Core PC Deals from $579 including $749 i5-750, $849 i7-860 & $999 Loaded i7-860 (updated)
October 27 Update: The configurations and prices have been changed around a little. All of the systems now feature Windows 7 and some have seen hardware upgrades (like 4GB RAM instead of 3, and 500GB hard drives instead of 250GB).

For many mainstream users and certainly for businesses, it would be quite difficult to go the "build-it-yourself" route for comparable systems when you have to factor in manpower, all of the components, operating systems, assembly and testing, as well as shipping (which is free from Dell.ca).

October 24, 7:48PM Update: Looks like XpressCanada.com has an even better price, by $11 at $338.75. XpressCanada.com seems to be owned by the same company as Canada Computers but they do not have any retail stores.

It's time for another look at some electronics and accessories that are on sale at Dell.ca. Right now, you'll find, among other things, noteworthy deals on the Nintendo DSi, a very affordable 720p HD camcorder, and more.
If you've been looking to pick up a Nintendo DSi, this is as good a deal as we've seen in quite some time. In, fact it is the lowest price we've seen at retail! The previous low was a black DSi for $170 during Days of Deals event. Other retailers are selling the DSi for $179.99 to $189.99.
The other item that catches our eye is the Kodak ZX1 camcorder. That sounds pretty good to us! According to PriceCanada.com, other Canadian retailers currently sell this for $140 and up.

Updated Microsoft “Ultimate Steal” Offer for Students: Windows 7 Professional Upgrade $39.99
Microsoft has updated its popular "Ultimate Steal" promotion for students now that Windows 7 has been launched. Eligible students can purchase the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade (32-bit or 64-bit) for $39.99. As before, to qualify, you must have a valid email address at one of the listed universities and "must be a student at an educational institution located in Canada and be actively enrolled in at least 0.5 course load and be able to provide proof of enrollment upon request".
