HOT! Olevia 747i 1080p 47” LCD HDTV $1099.99 @ TigerDirect.ca
It's the return of a great product and a great deal over at TigerDirect.ca - the Olevia 747i 1080p 47" LCD HDTV is back, and it's $1099.99!. Don't let the fact that this unit isn't stamped "Sony" or "Sharp" influence your decision. This model is widely acclaimed as having superb image quality (in both standard and high definition) and good features. Standout features include the very high end SiliconOptix Realta Hollywood Quality Video processor, detachable speakers, glass cover providing screen protection and ease of cleaning, side-mounted connection panel, and more. $1099.99 is a great price for a 1080p 47" HDTV, let alone one that has outstanding image quality.
Don't just take our word for it though, consider some reviews. Wired.com gives this unit the "Best of Test" award and a rating of 9/10. HDTV Solutions too, has great things to say about the unit. User reviews at CNET.com are glowing as well.
Some of you may note that Olevia declared bankruptcy a few months ago. However, the parent company, Syntax-Brillian, has gone on record that "customer warranties will indeed continue to be honoured by the company throughout the process, and going forward under the new ownership".
Thanks to erad99 for letting us know that this deal is back!

TigerDirect.ca: Refurb. Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS w/ TTS $99.99, Refurb. Tomtom One XL GPS $139.99
If you're looking for a GPS navigator for under $150, TigerDirect.ca has a couple of deals of interest, namely, the Refurbished Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS for $99.99 and the Refurbished TomTom One XL GPS for $139.99.
The Magellan Maestro is the cheaper of the 2, but still packs a 4.3" touch screen, text to speech, an SD card slot, 4.5 million points of interest, and 2D or 3D views. The 4040 has a 90 day warranty. For its part, the TomTom One XL GPS also has a 4.3" touchscreen and comes with a 1-year warranty, but lacks features such as text to speech. Still, TomTom is also a more well known-brand, so that may factor into your decision.

TigerDirect.ca: TomTom One XL GPS $159.99, Refurb. Netgear WG111 USB Wireless Adapter $10 & More
Here are some items of interest from TigerDirect.ca:
$159.99 is a great price for the TomTom One XL GPS. The price for a new unit was around $179.99 only a couple of weeks ago. Among other things, the One XL features a 4.3" touchscreen, 1GB internal memory and a SD card slot, Bluetooth support, 3D map view, and more. The Netgear USB Wireless Adapter is refurbished, but according to PriceCanada.com, other retailers are selling it new for at least $43, so the savings are quite impressive. Rounding out the bunch is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ barebone kit. With a CPU, motherboard, 2GB RAM, a case and power supply included, you have most of the groundwork done for a budget computer.

TigerDirect: Sylvania LC420SS8 42” 1080p LCD HDTV $799.99, ViewsSonic XGA Projector w/iPod Dock $549
Looking for an HDTV or a projector for your home entertainment centre? You might want to take a look at these offerings from TigerDirect.ca then:
Despite not being a household name for television, it looks like Sylvania has produced a solid HDTV with the LC420SS8. From 9 user reviews on HDTVsolutions.com, this TV has an average rating of 4.2/5. Among other things, it features 2 HDMI inputs, DSub and more. It may not be the most fully featured set, but at $799.99 for a 1080p 42" HDTV, that's not something to complain about. In general, viewers seem to laud the unit for image quality.
As for the ViewsSonic PJ258D, its built-in iPod dock sets it apart from similar projectors. This unit has a native resolution of 1024x768 (XGA) and a brightness rating of 2000 ANSI Lumens. Laptopmag.com gives the PJ258D a score of 3.5/5 stars, as does PC Magazine. Both reviews find some faults (including a less than stellar built in speaker), but seem to conclude that it is a capable projector. Bear in mind that when reviewed in 2007, the projector also cost anywhere from $700-$1000.

TigerDirect: Olevia 55” 1080p LCD TV $1500, Refurb. Sansa 2GB MP3 Player $30, BeanSprout Camera $25
TigerDirect.ca has some good deals on some large and small items. If you're shopping for something big, like a 55" 1080p HDTV, or something easier on the wallet like a MP3 player under $30, you'll find something of interest below.
The Olevia 55" LCD HDTV has dropped $100 from its recent $1599.99 price tag. $1499.99 is a very appealing price for a 1080p 55" LCD! Elsewhere, the Sandisk Sansa 2GB MP3/MP4 player can handle music, video clips, features a voice recorder, FM tuner, and has Micro SD expandability as well -- that's a lot of goodies for just $29.99. Last but not least, have a look at the Argus Beansprout VGA Digital Camera. You won't be doing photoshoots with this camera, but given its size (fits easily on a keychain or on a belt with the built in clip), fun design and solid construction, this is a perfect camera for kids to enjoy. At $24.99, it won't break any budgets, either.

TigerDirect: Motorola F3 Unlocked GSM Phone $37, Hanns-G 21.6” LCD $200 & More
TigerDirect.ca has some good deals to close out the month of July including a very well reviewed 21.6" LCD for $199.99, 2 unlocked GSM cell phones for under $40, and a solid barebone kit for an AMD X2 5000+ based budget computer. Have a look:
- Hanns-G HG-216DPB 21.6" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 1680x1050 (WSXGA+), 1000:1 Ratio, HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, Speakers, Black - $199.99
- PCChips A13G+ Socket AM2 Barebone Kit - v3.0 w/AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition Retail, 160GB SATA HD, 2GB DDR2 PC6400, ATX Mid-Tower Case, 450 Watt Power Supply - $199.99 after $30 mail in rebate
- Motorola F3 Black Unlocked GSM Cell Phone - $36.99
- UTStarcom GSM708 Unlocked GSM Cell Phone - Tri-Band GSM 850/1800/1900, Predictive Text, Black - $24.99
Let's start with the Hanns-G 21.6" LCD. Hanns-G might not be a monitor manufacturer name you've heard of much, but the monitor in question has some sparkling users reviews. At NewEgg.com, it has an average score of 5/5 based on 108 user reviews and 5 Reviews at Amazon.com yield an average score of 4.5/5.
Elsewhere, the AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition barebone kit looks like good value as well. Add a heatsink/fan (Black Edition CPUs do not include heatsink/fans), an optical drive, and an operating system and you have the makings of a very solid budget computer.
Rounding out this batch of deals is a pair of unlocked GSM cellular phones. Both are light on frills, but if all you need is a phone to make phone calls and not one to surf the internet or walk your dog, these are good deals. They might also be well suited for the less gadget-inclined or just as backup phones.

TigerDirect: Logitech Harmony 550 Remote $60, X2 5000+4GB RAM Barebone Bundle $200 AR & More
Here are some nteresting savings to be had from TigerDirect.ca:
At $59.95, The Harmony 550 is priced well. The previous low we've seen for this product was about $62!
The other 2 items should be of interest to those of you looking for cost efficient computer upgrades or those that are building affordable systems from scratch. The X2 5000+ processor has lots of bang for the buck and comes ready for overclocking (only "Black Editions" have factory unlocked multipliers). The barebone kit gives you a great running start with the X2 5000+ processsor, 4GB of RAM, a motherboard, and a case with power supply. The processor and RAM bundle for $80 after $20 rebate is a nice value too. Consider that the Black edition alone sells for at least $79.99 elsewhere and that this RAM usually sells for at least $30 (often after a rebate).
