ATI Radeon 4850 Now Available From as Low as $175 after rebate, Nvidia 9800GTX Price Drops
Just a few days ago, ATI launched the Radeon 4850, a new video card that should certainly spice up the video card wars. How does it perform you ask? Very well. The consensus from a number of early reviews and previews is that the card is highly competitive with the Nvidia 9800GTX, trading blows in some areas and often winning in scenarios such as high resolution gaming with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering turned on. Some resources to check out include Anandtech.com, which states that it "looks to be the best buy at $199" and Guru3d.com, which iterates that the 4850 is "stuffed with good features and offers tremendous amount of performance for your bucks".
If you're tempted, then here are some deals on 4850s that you can get your hands on:
But wait! This isn't an easy slam dunk for ATI. Nvidia has countered by dropping the prices on the 9800GTX card and preparing to release 9800GTX+. The GTX+ isn't available yet, but check out some of the new low prices on 9800GTX cards:
Sure it might complicates buying decisions, but more competition means better prices for consumers!
