BestBuy Online Only Sale May 18 - May 20
May 18 Update: The sale is now on, including product specials such as JVC Bud Headphones for $6.99 and the Toshiba 46" 1080p Regza LCD HDTV (46RV530U) for $1499.99.
This long weekend, Best Buy will be holding an online only sale starting at 6PM EST on May 18. The sale will run through until 10:00AM EST on May 20. The date and duration isn't specified on the page for some reason, but Best Buy emails sent out about this sale included the above dates. During this sale, most if not all product categories will be discounted. The discounts will be taken off the regular price of items. Here are some examples:
- 30% off All Home Theatre Speakers
- 10% off All Video Games (excludes hardware)
- 20% off All Video Game Accessories
- 10% off All TVs
- $50 off All Desktop Computers under $1000 (excludes Apple)
- $50 off Apple Computers
- 15% off All Digital Picture Frames
The "exclusive offers" aren't available yet, but should be available closer to the start time of the sale.

50 Free Best Buy Reward Zone Points for 1 Question Father’s Day Survey
Now that Mother's Day is taken care of, it's time to start thinking about Father's Day, and that's just what Best Buy is doing.
The Best Buy's rewards program, Reward Zone, like it did for Mother's Day, now has a lightning quick 1-question survey about Father's Day. In exchage, you will receive 50 free Reward Zone points, the equivalent of spending $50 at Best Buy. Once you get to 400 points you can cash it in for a $5 Best Buy Reward Certificate.
As before, you'll need to login to your account and look for the survey. If you don't have an account you can sign up for one, which is quick and painless as well. Thanks to gambit_360 for this one.

In store, it will be held on Monday May 5 from 6PM to 9PM (Vancouver, Burnaby, and Bay and Dundas locations will hold the sale from 6PM to 10PM). Looking for an iPod? It looks like BestBuy has the prices to beat at the moment on the 16GB iPod touch and 80GB iPod Classic. Take a peak at these and some other offers:
The above iPod prices are at least $10-$20 than cheaper than we've seen elsewhere. The Canon MF4150 is also $200 at Staples currently, but it remains a tempting price for a 5-in-1 (print, scan, copy, fax, pc fax) laser printer nonetheless - good for the home or small office. As for Condemned 2: Bloodshot, the game was only released a few weeks ago, so $40 is a good price. The game has an average rating of 85% at GameRankings.com

Tech Roundup: Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager $90, XFX GeForce 9600GT $140 AR, 2-for-$30 “Brain” DS Games
Here are some interesting bargains on computers and eletronics to keep your busy this weekend!
The XFX 9600GT is a great video card for the money. Is it quite as good as the recent slew of 8800GT video cards for under $175? It's hard to say. Both cards offer stellar performance for the money, but with the Galaxy 8800GT for $149.99 after rebate at NCIX now sold out, this XFX 9600GT is certainly in the running for the best current video card deal. Elsewhere, $90 is a pretty good price for the 16GB Corsair Flash Voyager. Flash Voyagers are known for their prodigious speed and durability. It wasn't long ago that a 16GB flash drive would cost you upwards of $150 or even $200.

BestBuy: iPod Touch 16GB $299.99
Have you been holding out on buying one of those swanky iPod Touches? Did you turn up your nose and say "I'm not paying $370 for that!"? Well, Best Buy currently has the 16GB iPod Touch for $299.99. It looks like it's the "older" model that doesn't include the new software, but this is a pretty good price nonetheless. If you've been living under a rock and possibly on the moon, the iPod Touch has a terrific looking 3.5" multitouch display, handles music, videos and photos, and is Wi-Fi capable, allowing you to browse the web where wireless connections are available.
