$17.50 Fido Plan w/Unlimited Weekends+Evenings (5PM), Unlimited Incoming Text, 200 Weekday Minutes
October 1 Update: This offer has been extended until November 3, 2008. At the same time, Fido customers can now save 5-15% when bundling with Rogers services. See Fido.ca/bundles for details.
Originally Posted August 28: Fido has launched a very good introductory plan on a 3 year agreement. The offer can be viewed on Fido.ca. The plan, for $17.50 a month on a 3 year contract, includes:
- Unlimited weekends and evenings from 5PM
- Unlimited incoming text messages
- 200 weekday minutes
- Per-second Billing
As is quite standard with phone plans, the $17.50 does not include a $6.95 monthly system access fee or the 50 cent 911 emergency access fee. Considering that it is a publicly available plan, $17.50 for unlimited weekends from after 5PM and per-second billing is very good. This offer is good until October 31, 2008 in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatechewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

Dell has introduced a new addition to its popular Vostro laptop line today: the 15.6" Vostro A860 notebook. It has revamped styling, and comes with some new twists including "HD" resolution (1366x768) and S-Video & IEEE 1394 (firewire) ports. - Intel Celeron M M560 (2.13GHz, 1M L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)

5 Blu-Rays for $5 @ Columbia House Canada…
If you've got a PS3 or another Blu-ray player Columbia House is offering 5 Blu-ray movies for only $5 plus $0.99 shipping per disc. It's not all exactly that simple though. As with the rest of the Columbia House programs you also have to promise to buy an additional 4 Blu-ray or DVD movies at regular club prices starting at $19.95 plus shipping and handling within the next year. You can save a bit more if you order 2 additional Blu-rays along with the 5 for $5 offer at $19.95 and $14.95 each with $0.99 shipping per disc so your commitment to buy in the next year is only additional 2 Blu-ray movies.
The good news is that if you add up all the math it works out to under $15 per Blu-ray depending on if you order the two additional movies now and depending on which titles you decide to buy in the next year. It's a good way to start up your collection and if you're thinking ahead some of these movies might even make great Christmas gifts.
