Freebie: Martha Stewart Thanksgiving Recipe e-Book w/Mario Batalli, Nigella Lawson Recipes & More

Forum member ricosuave has shared a nice freebie with us. Sirius Satellite Radio and Martha Stewart Living Radio Thanksgiving Hotline present Martha Stewart Thanksgiving Hotline Recipes, a recipe e-book (PDF format) with over 30 recipes from Martha Stewart and other famous chefs. There are recipes from Nigella Lawson, Mario Batalli, Emeril Lagasse to name a few. There are plenty of delicious looking photos and the recipe book appears very well put together. That's probably to be expected since we're talking about Martha Stewart!

Clearly, the timing is a little more suited for American Thanksgiving, but we don't think anyone is going to complain if you dinner includes Sweet Potato and Ricotta Gnocchi and Chocolate Pecan Pie or Chocolate Bread Parfait for dessert!

LibriVox: Free Audiobooks of Public Domain Works (Shakespeare, Descartes, Marx, Joyce & Tons More)

Have you ever thought how much better your life would be if you had someone to read Shakespeare, Joyce, and Coleridge to you on demand? Well, even if your answer to that is "no", you should still check out LibriVox.org, which is a library of free audiobooks of public domain works. Materials are all read and recorded by volunteers, so quality can vary. Still, you have to admire the effort, and free is free! The selection of audiobooks is quite large (2400+ readings) and you can find a good amount of English literature, poetry, philosophy and politics. We've given a few titles a test-listen and there's not much to complain about given the price.

Audiobooks are offered in MP3 and OGG formats. This looks like a neat resource for students, scholars, fans, or anyone who would like to get a little more well-acquainted with some classics. Give it a shot!

Free Ice Skating at GE Plaza in Robson Square (Vancouver)

Hey Vancouver, lace up your skates, the ice rink at Robson Square is open again! It is now called the GE Plaza at Robson Square, to reflect the financial support from General Electric required to get the rink up and running for the first time in almost ten years.

The expanded rink at GE Plaza will serve as a centerpiece for activities during the 2010 Winter Olympics, but until then you can take advantage of free skating every day from 9AM to 9PM. Between 9AM-12PM the rink may be host to special group bookings, so you might want to wait until noon to hit the ice if you need a lot of room to skate with your little ones or perfect your triple axel. There is a $3 charge to rent skates if you need them, but children under 12 can rent for free.

In addition to the free ice skating, there will also be free concerts held at GE Plaza, so visit often and have fun!
