Stay away from this, unless you want to give away all of your photography to Wal*Mart Canada Corporation for its use and profit.
Excerpt from the terms and conditions one is required to accept before creating an account:
“You grant to Wal*Mart Canada Corp. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, unrestricted, world-wide right and license to access, use, copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, perform, communicate to the public, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, and otherwise use such Materials (in whole or in part) in connection with the Site and/or the Products, using any form, media or technology now known or later developed, without providing compensation to you or any other person, without any liability to you or any other person, and free from any obligation of confidence or other duties on the part of Wal*Mart, its affiliates and their respective licensees;”
(see http://www.walmartphotocentre.ca/disclaimers/terms.aspx)

Ben, you should not upload anywhere then - all that the sites I have been to have the same clause:
Blacks"You grant to the Web Site and its service providers and licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, unrestricted, world-wide right and license to access, use, copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, perform, communicate to the public, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, and otherwise “
Costco USA:
Accordingly, as a condition to your Membership, you hereby grant Costco Photo a perpetual, universal, nonexclusive right to copy, display, modify, transmit, make derivative works of and distribute any content transmitted or provided to the Services by you…

CanuckX, for a image hosting site sure, but not for printing photo. costco usa’s term is specifically for providing the service (printing photo). it’s not saying they own the pictures you uploaded.
on the costco canada:
“You remain the owner of all content that you submit to the Service and as a condition to use, you represent and warrant to PhotoChannel that you are the owner of the copyright to content you submit to the Service or that you have written permission from the copyright owner to submit such content.”

Hmm, very good point on the the intellectual property loss on the Wal-Mart site. Thanks zygoat.... (Ben). Hope my stuff is too banal to re-use in a corporate manner.

so here’s an idea...after you order them...delete them from the album…

Once you upload your photos they store them in their database. By deleting them that just makes it unavailable to you not them.

so then just take crappy pictures...and they won’t want to use them…

About picture ownership:
Them corporations would only want on the safer side. Its us against them, like if one person attempted to file charges, it will prosper all the way to court and get junk right after. A waste of time and money for the company.
This photo upload feature may be for basic consumer use and for professional use. Maybe, if photogs goes digital, there is no way they can protect their pictures anymore.
