The link does work, but I thought I would have to wait until the Passes are available to pick them up?

These have been available for over 2 years now.  There are 5 passes per library, they are given out Saturday morning.  Gone within the 1st 30min of opening.  After you use it at the museum they get sent back to the library but they hold them until saturday morning before releasing them again.

oh! Thanks for the information. I guess you can’t place a hold on them like you can with books?

FYI, Ottawa library has this deal for Ottawa museums as well.  But the waiting time to get the pass is really long as I guess everyone want to go to the museums free!

The most popular museums (ROM, AGO and Science Centre) are usually gone within that day the passes are released but there are other passes that are usually available.  There are two libraries that start giving out passes on Friday..which I believe are Maria A. Shchuka and Urban Affairs.
The passes do not get sent back to the library as there is an expiration date on it.  Only a certain number of passes are printed and distributed to each branch

Are the passes released on a per week basis, for example if I want to borrow for the week of 14 Mar do I go to the library on 14Mar or are they released for all weeks on 07Mar? I am inquiring about the Toronto MAP.

They are released on a per week basis, momcstay.

Passes are released on a per week basis.
A week (for the majority of branches) would be Saturday - Friday.  So if you get a pass on Saturday, that is your pass for the week.  If you want another pass, you would have to wait till the next week..Saturday - Friday.
For example:
You go on Saturday, March 14 and get 1 pass. Now, you want another pass, so you would have to wait till Saturday, March 21.

Even if you get a pass on Friday, March 20, you can go on Saturday, March 21 and get another pass.

These passes are terrific, especially for March Break.  The only problem is having to line-up Saturday at 8:30am to get the passes you want.  And the current passes expire at the end of March.  My understanding is the passes that are available then in April are good for the entire year.  So if you dedicated every Saturday morning for a month, you could get four passes to four different places.  Most of them are good for 2 adult and 3or 4 children.

The current passes are good until the end of June.
