Great! Wait a sec...damn! Windsor outside workers on strike and most public services are offered including public pools.
Now on week 13 of CUPE’s strike. Thanks CUPE.
Stay out for longer. Garbage hasn’t not been that bad. Residents can take care of themselves. We’re learning to reduce, reuse and recycle more. Uncut grass looks OK.
Hope Sid Ryan’s stance of not backing down makes you happ
So you say you’re striking because of keeping post retirement benefits (PRB) for life for NEW workers (existing workers keep them) that haven’t even been hired yet. 6 new workers in the last two years.
You say unfair bargaining and register a complaint against the city with the labour board? Hmm, somebody leaked the details of supposedly of an agreement that had CUPE giving up on the PRB issue. Could it be that CUPE did it themselves to walk away from the table and save face? Hmm, I wonder. The city had everything they wanted and who benefited from walking away from the table and not bother to return for the last two weeks?
Hope it’s been worth it. Your members must be enraged with this and should be with the union leadership and not take it out on residents. You walked out, you’re on strike.
Windsorites will outlast you!
