I went into a Source store where they claimed to have 3 in stock. Sure enough there was 3 stacked in the showroom. However they had them as part of an in-store “bundle”.
I said I just wanted the printer for $39.99 as advertised on their website and the assistant scuttled off to check with her manager. She then returned saying that this price is only available with purchase of a laptop. I told her that it isn’t, it’s $39.99 no conditions. She said that they’re not honouring this deal in that store. What a load of baloney. BTW the store is Capilano in North Vancouver. Isn’t it illegal advertising a price and then not honouring it? This seems to happen a lot in Canada. Do retailers simply not understand the law or do they just act like spoiled brats and fail to honour it because it doesn’t suit them? Sheesh!

I should add that the ‘bundle’ was not some pre-packaged thing. I understand they can’t split a package. These were free standing printers, with an in-store label that promised you could but this plus a cable and pack of paper for x. They would allow me to buy the printer on its own, but wouldn’t honour the price. What a scam!

You should just order it with a credit card for 3-5 day in-store pick up, then they can’t really do anything about it since you will have already paid.
