Future Shop has a 42” by LG for $1200 and this Westinghouse is only $600.
The main differences are that the Westinghouse doesnt have an HD tuner built in, it is only 720p instead of 1080p. I dont think this matters so much but one thing that may matter is the contrast ratios.
LG $1200 has 25000:1
Westinghouse has 1500:1
Will this make a big difference to the eyes?

Yes that will make a difference. 1600:1 will be fine for most households, but it won’t be worthwhile to attempt watching it in a very bright room.
