We picked up the Dyson Ball from Woot.com and are very pleased. We tested it and the Dyson picked up a lot more that our other vacuum left behind.

Are they good at picking up long human hair?

I had been seriously eyeing a dyson refurb, but then found several reports (including consumer reports) that put cheaper hoovers above it in overall ranking. Dyson’s do sound like good vacuums, but possibly overhyped.

Miele + Electrolux > Dyson

bought the Consumers top rated Kenmore Infiniti

Compared to the Dyson it has a longer cord, longer hose, much quieter, bag rather than bagless

Did a suction test by placing a piece of cardboard between the hoses, Kenmore vs Dyson and the Dyson won hands down

I’ve had two Electrolux, two Kenmore & One Hoover - None of them compare to the Dyson~

Are they selling these because they broke down too often and customers returned them?

We have a Dyson DC21 at home, if you have cat or dogs that shed its an amazing vacuum!! I’m still amazed at the stuff this machine picks up.

We have the cannister @ work and have had it for more than a year, filter system is easy to clean.Love it. And paid $600! I would buy the refurbrished one for home if I had carpet, but only have hardwood. highly recommend it!
Pros:
sucks well, easy maintanence, sturdy, never cloggs up, motorized head can be removed for other pieces. Motor on head can be turned off
Cons:
really heavy, longer hose, and longer retractable cord would be nice, noisy.

FYI.....follow instructions for cleaning filter. Dump cannister outside, as dust always rises when you turn cannister upside down for emptying

I bought the dyson DC23 and its pretty amazing how much suction the thing has.  I’de probably buy the upright over the canister if I could do it again… I don’t like the non-detachable wand on the end of the hose....  but this one always amazes me with what it pulls out of the carpets.

I’ve had the DC14 for the part two years. It’s really awesome! It replaced our Electrolux which was also a great vacuum, but the Dyson is much better. We have two golden retrievers so it gets good use. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another. I had paid $579 +tax, so I think this is a great deal.

I just picked up the DC28 Animal with a Dyson Total Clean Kit for $599 at FutureShop (any location on their weekend sale on now.

I was checking Best Buy online they have discounts on right now and I was going to pick up the DC 14 at BB for $424.19 and save $75, I called FutureShop to price match/beat it, they have on sale all Dysons plus the cleaning kit. the DC 14 was going to be 499 with free Total Kit, I asked about the DC 28 it was 599 (regularly 699) with free kit ( regularly 137) so I saved 237 bucks on a new Dyson and kit! I just vacuumed my place and am super happy with it.
