I recently switched my auto insurance to Desjardins from TD.  When I changed my car, TD wanted to increase my premium by about 86%.  Desjardins was about 5% (the vehicle is more expensive to insure and I was expecting to pay more, but not almost double).

Further, Desjardins was competitive with my TD Insurance despite my alumni discount with TD.

I’d recommend Desjardins from my brief experience with them over TD any day.

Be aware desjardin does a credit check when you get a quote, I have been told it’s a ‘soft’ credit check but it’s a credit check regardless.
The fact that it’s hidden in fine print and not upfront makes me not trust them.

My desjardin quote was too expensive, even with the 5% discount for winter tires on both vehicles… 5% discount while 25% more than other quotes I got… no thanks.
