Wow, it’s 9:30am in Eastern Canada and already stuff is sold out.  Don’t get me wrong, they still have the items for sale, just not at the advertised price.

I have never been able to get to anything good at NCIX that was on sale.  Same thing with Black Friday, everything good was sold out but not sold out, just sold out at the “sale price”, still available at the higher price.

And they have some random number generator telling you how few are available at “that price”.  Refresh a page, you’ll see the number go up and down by huge amounts with each refresh.

The certainly lie on their sales and their website.

I don’t know about them lying about sales, however I do know that it’s TERRIBLE FORM for that to mis-advertise a sale.  It more or less screws anyone who has a life (and works on Monday morning).

If they had properly advised that they would sell units for their “Cyber Monday” sale on a Sunday night, then I might not have got my hopes up (or I may have even purchased something… on SUNDAY NIGHT).

You’ve disappointed me yet again…

I looked on the site for the “surprise specials” and it says “While supplies last”.

Well the supply is still there because you can order it.  Click on the hard drive in the Red Flag post above and you get:

“Sorry, we’ve SOLD OUT of this item at the Surprise Sale price. Please watch for more Surprise Sales in the future. “

And right below it says:

Availability:  In Stock
This item is in stock and will ship as soon as possible. Usually ships in 1-2 business days.

So there are supplies available for a “while supplies last” sale except they won’t honor the sale price.

I empathize if your experience with NCIX.  I have no idea why they would choose to start a sale 12AM midnight.  I suppose has something to do with it being the easiest to do on computer calendars that default to 12AM everyday. But it certainly end up favoring some people more than others.

To be fair, based on my experience with NCIX, I have been able to buy everytime at NCIX.  Once for the $370 280GTX, second for the $99 1TB harddrive and this time the Antec 900.  Everytime I brought within 2 hours of the sale activation.  Trust me, the availability @ sale price quantity plummets FAST!!!  In the ten minutes which it took me to select my 900, the number started from 69 and plummeted 10.

So I would have to conclude a certain amount of sale price quantity exists.  Hence they aren’t false advertising.  Whether or not the quantity started out at the stated amount (in this case 300) is any1s guess.
