so you can buy the phone and put it on a contract?

Posted November 16, 2008 @ 3:29pm

dnfm

I’d imagine so, but I can’t even begin to fathom why you’d want to do that.

I noticed this deal as well. Is it for real? I thought it was just a misprint on the Telus website. I was thinking of buying a new phone and this would definitely be a steal (too bad Telus’s prepaid plan sucks...).

AloraDanin

I went to Telus and the only way to get it for $99.00 is with a three year contract.  When you click on no contract it costs $349.00

Can I get the pink one for this price??? in Ontario?
you can also add the $25 future shop gift card

SongforaFriend

Thanks for the info AloraDanin, you saved me a disappointing trip to Telus lol. When something is too good to be true it probably is.

It’s 2008.  At this point, you’d be foolish to waste your money on a CDMA device anyway.

You have to add the phone through the pay & talk link. And as stated it is only the Pink colour available at this price. I am located in Ontario.

This is the info from my cart:
item price
SKU Product Name Price Quantity Total Price
NPPLG8800P LG VENUS™ $ 99.99 1 $ 99.99

I am trying to look where it states only the pink one is available.  I can only find the black one at $99. thanks for the help

Posted November 17, 2008 @ 3:49pm

gfong

The Pink is represented by the letter at the end of the product number. So if you have a P it is Pink.

NPPLG8800"P"

Hope that helps.

Bought the phone this morning-could make a good Christmas gift!  Hopefully there will be no issues setting it up to an existing plan!

Just spoke with a telephone salesperson, who informed me that the pay and talk phone only comes in pink, at least in Ontario.  Oh well…

Posted November 18, 2008 @ 11:14am

phanysp

Ya, I picked it up.  I had the pink one all along.  Thanks for the help.

can u put ur existing plan on this phone?

Posted November 18, 2008 @ 2:22pm

star2002

I spoke to 2 reps from telus and they both said it could go on the plan.  In fact one rep said that is how he got his phone!

I don’t think it’s bad a deal if you already have plan, especially considering the cost for replacing the phone if it is damaged, lost or stolen.

I have a plan with Telus and they just can’t seem to provide good customer service. Ok, not all of the staff but I’ve had some experiences.

This one is for the people that already have a plan with Telus. If your phone, is stolen, lost or damaged and your situation is not covered by the special warranty. This is your best option. You will call Telus and they will suggest that you buy one of their low end phones, for the price of what you can get a pay and talk phone. Check out Best Buy, you can buy their warranty for a couple of years.

knoxvle

so you can buy any pay and talk cell phone and put it on a plan?

Posted November 18, 2008 @ 9:09pm

Wendenator

Yes, and that is the best way to get the best deal. They told me I could buy the low end LG replacement phone for the same price that I bought the better LG phone.

I was charged a $10 fee for doing it online but if I di it by phone it would of cost me $35.

The other option was to buy out of the plan...and you don’t want to hear how much THAT would cost. At least I didn’t have to start another plan...they suggested that too.

Thanks OP Ordered one

Thanks op!
We bought this for our daughter, to replace her phone that was damaged in a car accident.
She’s out of contract, and we really didn’t want to have to go with a new contract in order to get a decent deal.
Bottom line, we just got off the phone from Telus customer service, and everything is taken care of. A new awesome phone for $99.99, and still OUT OF CONTRACT, woot!
Thanks again for this post!
