Hot! Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop w/ Intel Q6600, 3GB RAM, 320GB HD, Vista Home Prem. $549

Dell.ca currently has an Intel quad core system for the low, low price of $549. For your money, you're getting an Inspiron 530 Desktop Computer with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor. You will need to manually remove the 20" LCD to get the $549 price. Here are the full system specs:
    • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor (8MB cache, 2.4 GHz)
    • Windows Vista Home Premium
    • 3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 4 DIMMs
    • 320GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
    • Integrated Intel 3100 graphics and 7.1 Channel Audio
    • 16x DVD+/-RW Drive
    • Dell Entry Optical Mouse, Dell USB Keyboard
    • 1 Year Next Business Day Onsite/In Home Service and Tech Support
This is really an impressive hardware setup for the money. A Q6600 processor and 3 gigabytes of RAM under the hood of a brand new $549 system is fantastic. You're only an after-market video card away from turning this into a great budget gaming system that doesn't skimp on performance. NVIDIA 8800GT or 9600GT cards are popular popular choices right now, as they combine great performance and low prices. This system really doesn't look like it needs many upgrades otherwise, but Microsoft Works Plus 2008 can be added for $30 if you need some productivity software.

I’m guessing you can’t put a 8800GT or 9600GT into this system, because the power supply is only 350W...?

Yeah, you’d have to upgrade the PSU as well. Also, you’d have to make sure the slot has room for the card.
