Tried to redeem this coupon at YIGs. They told me they were specifically instructed not to accept this coupon, or any others that weren’t ‘original’, as they were fraudulent.
I tried to explain that the coupon came from the stayfree.ca website, and they brought in a manager, who embarassingly told me again, that this was fraud. NOT cool.

I’ve had the same problem with “home printed” coupons… stores are refusing them left & right because too many people are editing them and changing values and / or dates, turning them into fraudlent coupons that the manufacturers aren’t honouring (...so the store looses out… so now the store just refuses them… so the consumer looses out).

Can’t do much about that other than to try to educate the stores on which coupons are real. Maybe try to point them to the site if you have internet access on your phone and shop at the stores that do accept legitimate coupons.
Here’s a $2 one from the Stayfree.ca site if that’s easier to get accepted:

I have used these coupons on 3 separate occasions at two different Zellers stores with no questions asked.

I used two coupons yesterday on the same transaction. She punched in 2.47 for each item and took off 2.50 for the coupons at the end of purchase. I was up .06 cents with no questions asked. I also used my 30 000 points posted here!
Thanks for both posts!
