They are nearly sold out of the DVD-R online, but have a good number of the DVD+R packs, as of 7:18 pm EST on Dec 28.

I don’t see how this is a Good deal? I recently bought 25 Pack 4x - R(Mitsumi) for only $26.99…

Well… it’s free shipping, 4x, and comes with cases. I think that’s pretty good.

Not all media is created equal!  Some are ot worth any money!  Mitsumi is top of the line DVD media without doubt and worth the money.  Pine is a hit and miss! Can you afford hit and miss at any price these days in the DVD media game? I can’t

Mitsumi is at the bottom of the heap, and since Pine and Mitsumi are often produced by the same manufacturer, I’d assume that Pine is equally horrible.

It’s a fact, however, that Mitsumi is the ‘coaster creator’.

And then, what would be a “Top of the Line” brand in regards to DVD-R media?  New to the DVD burning game, I’ve been wondering this myself…

Best to not be a fanboy and buy one brand. I usually get what looks decent. I mean honestly I would be wary of XYZ made in Kleptmanistan, but I wouldn’t really hesitate with other names. Honestly I have never lost a single disc EVER and I do media design, plus I burn cd’s non-stop. You just need to be smart while burning. Kill most apps, burn 1 step below the max of the drive and don’t be stupid. Works everytime for me, no matter the media, but then again I avoid most of the stupid brands.

DVD-R's

I’d bought a few packs of pin dvd-r’s they are pretty decent! they burn nicely!  it’s pretty good to me! excellet! :d

staples has dvd-r’s Fujifilm made brand, they have it on sale too.  9.99 after “Instant Rebate”

I was at futureshop, there were plenty of pine media “dvd-r’s left on the shelf, I’d wonder if they have any more or not.

It should be stated that CDR media are more forgiving that DVD media.  The cost is also significantly more per disc (even though the per meg cost is much lower).

That said, I also have to add that I’m only familiar with the DVD+R brands of discs and have had no problems with any except for the Mitsumi brand. I also heard that they outsource manufacturing for Pine discs.

And, of course, avoid any discs made in Kleptmanistan.  They’re only good for the production of dililthium crystals.  In case you need to use warp speed in your travels.  Happy burning…

Writing Data to DVD most media will do.

Now writing Video to DVD right to the outer edge (4,689,070,080 bytes) will separate the men from the boys.

I trust only Ritek when it comes to backing up my videos.
