    Dell.ca: Vostro 220 PC w/ Intel C2D E7300, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD, Vista $359 (Hot!)

Things are starting to heat up at Dell.ca! Right now, they've got an excellent offer for an very affordable yet powerful desktop PC. We're talking about this Vostro 220 PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo E7300, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD, and Vista Basic for $359. Here are the specs:
    • Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 (2.66GHz, 3M, L2Cache, 1066FSB) (manually selected upgrade for +$30)
    • 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz - 2DIMMs
    • 1 Year Basic Limited Warranty and 1 Year NBD Onsite Service
    • 160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
    • Integrated 5.1 Channel Audio
    • Integrated Video, Intel® GMA X4500HD
    • Single Drive: 16X DVD-ROM Drive
    • Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic, Service Pack 1
A similar system with with a 250GB hard drive and DVD-RW instead of just a DVD-ROM was $399 last week, but the $40 discount is tradeoff we'll gladly take. You can always pick a much bigger hard drive and DVD-RW for cheap later on if you need them. This is a great system for just under $360. Remember, as a Vostro system, there is a 30 day no hassle return policy. You won't have to pay return shipping or a restock fee if for some reason, you need to return the system.

Some software upgrades to consider are Vista Home Premium for $30, Microsoft Works 9.0. Does (no MS Word) for $0, and Microsoft Works Plus 2008 Works (includes Word 2003) for $30.

Dell lists this discount as being good until December 5, but we'd recommend snapping this one up quickly if you're looking for a deal on a desktop PC.

Is shipping free like in the previous system, cause you can’t just say I’ll go pick it up at Dell like a retail store?

And I’m not talking about the vostro return shipping, just the intial shipping of the unit to me

Godot

Yes, Blade-Edge, Dell shipping to you is always free (now—it used to cost a $100 for a PC). It’s only the return that usually costs you $—but not in this case.
