    Dell.ca: Vostro 200 PC w/Core 2 Duo E8400, 250GB HD, 2GB RAM, Vista $429

October 7 Update: This system is once again available. It did originally appear about a month ago, but it remains the best value we've seen on a fast Core 2 Duo system lately.

wouldn’t you know it.  as soon as i get my new vostro with the e8300 and 160gb HD, they come out with this one.  $40 more gets you a faster processor, faster ram and a bigger HD.

do i dare send my current one back?  just kidding, because as soon as i would get this current deal a newer one would be out again.

Yeah, that’s a terrible choice between home basic and home ultimate for $180 more.

You have to pay an EXTRA $140 to have XP Pro installed instead?  I had to read that 2x before I believed it…

No.  You will need to add a decent video card for any current or new game.

Blizzard has always put a lot of effort into making their games playable on a very wide range of computers.

No guarantees of course, but I would bet that SC2 and D3 will be playable on a lot of integrated graphics chipsets (which is what this system comes with by default)—albeit probably at low settings.  You do have the option of adding a discrete video card later.

Right off the bat the E8400 is a really fast processor and As far as I know the other main stream sellers, HP,Acer etc are not offering this processor.
However, Dell always strikes me as more expensive, piece for piece, that the other brands.

Am I missing something, is Dell that much better?
