That BT325s is a good deal (reg $79.99), however know what you are getting.  This is a unique headset in that it is actually wired, with the wires designed to go to your MP3 player.

When you receive a call from your phone via bluetooth, it will interrupt whatever is playing on the wired connection.

I missed a kicka$$ deal from yesterday, has anyone tried/heard of Dell honour deals from the day before?

The price on the Sony HDRSR12 is the best yet.  The Sony Store still sells it for $1299 or $1399!  Best price on the net I have been tracking was $1077 so this is a HOT deal if you need a new camcorder!

the deals have been quite weak in my opinion.....

Sony HDRSR12 on Day 5 has gone back to its original price.  It was $899 this morning.

Posted December 8, 2008 @ 4:00pm

charliewy

damn, I’m annoyed with myself for waiting too long on the HDRSR12.  It was a smoking deal as I’ve been tracking it for awhile and not seen less or even near $1000.

The good news is that most of these big ticket items are probably going to see more price breaks with the economy being what it is.  But will this exact product come back, probably not....argh.

Posted December 8, 2008 @ 5:35pm

jfernandez1977

BestBuy.ca is have 10% sale for camcorder only for today.  That will bring down the price for HDRSR12 from $1099 to $989 provided it is available in store, otherwise you have to pay for the shipping.  Still it’s $90+tax more than what Dell.ca was offering this morning.

Posted December 8, 2008 @ 5:58pm

zivan56

The starting time of the deals only benefits Eastern Canada.  The Trendnet router deal started shortly after 2AM PST, and was completely gone by 8AM.  Also got screwed over on a purchase last night, when I got the last page of the order confirmation, the price changed all of a sudden (for the internet alarm clock/radio).

Posted December 8, 2008 @ 6:01pm

charliewy

I was able to get the HDRSR12 at like 11PM… it honored the price in my cart on my PC at home smile

I don’t see the Travel plug adaptor on the Dell site… did it disappear already or never appeared?

Ya Jabra bt325s… P.O.S. I feel like complaining to Dell for this crap wired device… no where in the listing did it say its a wired device, it says BLUETOOTH for Cell phone.  technically true but really misleading and underhanded.
Oh well. $11. no big deal.

Posted December 9, 2008 @ 1:55pm

The headset was pictured with a wire.  I’m also fairly sure the product page described what it was.

Dell along with other corporations have been getting away with their ways too long.

In the good old days, behaviour like this use to be called dishonesty. If it was a sophisticated “out of stock”, “computer glithches” schemes to maximize profit, it would be called thuggery, theft, fraud, etc. We call it “exciting deals at Dell”. Despite the above, I do want to thank redflagdeals for continuing to provide an excellent resource.

Well I ordered the Wii bundle… Seemed like a good dead.  Can’t find a Wii locally for the life of me.  Was planning on buying an Xbox 360… But my son just vegges out in front of the TV when playing it (he’s 4 and loved Curious George).
So, concerned with his weight (he’s a bit on the over weight side - but it’s mostly genetice! LOL) I thought that a Wii that would make him more active would be the smart buy instead - never realizing just how scarce the damned things are.
Hopefully Dell won’t cancel my order with an out of stock msg… SIGH.

Anyways, what do you guys think about the Wii bundle?  Decent price?  Worth it?

Yeap i agreee. i saw it for sure.. i actually wanted to order it and then when refresh it again.. it’s GONE! I AM LIKE OMG!!!!!!! so rude… Dell tend to do that… i ordered my PS3 plus the extra remote one before.. but it went through.. but then when i call to confirm why is it so long.. and they said there is an error on my order.. so i had to order the other one with the extra game instead of the remote control.
and also when i called in.. i feel like i just called someone home..caz it doesn’t sound like an office ! smile hehe

DON’T See the Canon SLR.  Can we get that displayed?  Thanks

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:20am

AndrewRFD

Generally, items are removed when they sell out.  That’s why the Canon Rebel XS isn’t there any more.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:28am

Dumb question but does the Wii Bundle include Wii Fit or just the Balance Board hardware without the Wii Fit software?  The summarized description doesn’t say Wii Fit software is included explicitly but the more detailed description of the Balance board implies that it is there.

Thanks,
\|/ Jeff \|/

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:32am

AndrewRFD

Jeff:

The description is indeed a little unclear, but we’ve never known Dell (or anyone else) to sell the balance board alone.  Wii Fit software should be included.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:36am

jeff.marsh

Hey Andrew,

Thanks - it isn’t a big deal - I’ve ordered the bundle and just was wondering if I needed to keep my eyes open to buy Wii Fit separately.  But from what you say I’ll just keep my fingers crossed and see what I get when it arrives.

\|/ Jeff \|/

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:39am

SShadow

From what I can gather from looking it up online, the balance board comes with Wii Fit… I didn’t see (in the few pages I looked) any mention of the two being able to be purchased separately.
All I can say is the board is useless without the Wii Fit portion of it.

Man, I really hope they have these in stock, and it gets here before Xmas!  wink

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:48am

jeff.marsh

I agree - before Xmas would be great - my order is showing a ship date of 17-Dec-2008 so as long as that holds (which isn’t always the case with Dell in my experience) it should make it.  Fingers crossed.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 10:52am

Anyone was successful in ordering the Canon DSLR?

Looks like Dell may have just pulled it when they realized they made a mistake (price too low). I tried to order it, the price showed $399 in cart, but $699 on the checkout page. Wouldn’t be surprised if Dell cancels orders for people who managed to order it… yikes!

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 12:49pm

dirkuma

You can order the Rebel for 699.00 just not for $399.

Yep, limited quanties at that price indeed. It bothers me that if you are going to have a sale it ought to be for what you have in stock or you should honour the price for the day. Perhaps it’s time for a complaint to the Canadian Government Competition Bureau

http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/epic/site/cb-bc.nsf/en/home

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 1:11pm

Well Dell cannot seem to find any record of me placing my order for the Wii bundle… Now I am cranky.  I’ve got the darn page printed out with the order time and everything.
Man, their chat and phone support is horrible.  I contacted them via email just now, maybe I’ll get a better response…
I guess I should probably keep on looking for a Wii for Xmas… ;(

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 1:11pm

thats’ what they do mostly!. they said “we don’t have any record that you order the item. and they won’t do anything about it. “

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 1:33pm

zivan56

I got the Canon XS...ordered it 3:15 AM PST (am really pissed about general switchover time...too late for anybody out west).  The only reason I stayed up is due to being sick at home and it being the last day of deals for now.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 2:21pm

I am never ordering from Dell ever again.  Too bad they don’t give a sweet, flying monkey whether I did or not… :(

1st call to their customer support, I was transferred and got a msg saying that it was a wrong number, and then disconnected me.

2nd call I was transferred to AT&T customer support. o.O

3rd call I was transferred to a line that was so staticky and muffled it must have been some pay phone in Bangledesh.

4th call I was transferred 5 times before I got some dude with an East Indian accent who confirmed that there was no record, what-so-ever, of my purchase of the Wii bundle this morning.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 2:27pm

roxy0703

Yup, I orderd the Canon SLR this morning at around 8:30AM.  Got an order confirmation as well.

I ordered 3 digital frames last week - i got one cancellation and when I asked them about it, they said they have no record of ANY of the three digital frame orders.  What a bunch of crooks.

I hope this doesn’t happen to my Canon order.  I urge all of you who have problems with dell to contact their executives.

,

The second email does not personally go to him, but it DOES go to an executive CSR which deals with matters immediately and are presumably at a higher level than the regular CSRs.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 3:18pm

SShadow

Well, it doesn’t matter any more.  I called around and managed to find all the contents of the bundle at a Superstore here in Halifax.  (Joe Howe Superstore, for those of you in Hfx.)

Cost $16 more than Dell, but it is under the tree and will for sure be here for Christmas.

Def will think three times before ordering from Dell again.  (man I hope the picture frame I ordered works!)

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 5:20pm

fotoboi

sorrry about that roxy0703. I had that experience before.. even with the confirmation number.. they won’t do anything. thats’ why i thought.. who does the customer service. sometime i feel like u called someone home.. .:(

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 6:08pm

roxy0703

Yeah I know...it’s brutal.  You won’t believe the response I got from the CSR:

I checked the records and unfortunately was not able to locate any orders under your name and since you have received the email stating your order was cancelled so I would believe that all the orders for the photo frame has been cancelled. Since the product was discontinued, any number of orders for the same product would have been cancelled as well. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you.

Yeah right...so they put the product out on sale, send ONE cancellation and then cancel the rest of my orders?  (I had ordered 3 frames SEPARATELY!!!)

sorry...had to vent. These CSRs are useless and are probably answering these calls in their PJs.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 6:21pm

bby

Don’t blame the customer service rep’s. They work with the tools that they are given, which is purposely very little. This way the corporations profits are maximized.

As consumers, we have to think hard about what “value” means to us. We (I included) have to take some responsibility for allowing this to happen by accepting the corporate abuse and communicating that we are willing to be treated in this manner.

It is the soft spoken guys in suits and ties with all the nice manners and straight white teeth whose dishonesty works to steal your time, effort, and money.

This is nothing new to Dell and other big brands. They know exactly what is going on and how long it’s going on for. They have effectively killed any real competition and thus have monopoly’s.

Posted December 15, 2008 @ 8:26pm

zivan56

I got my Rebel XS a couple days back and was pretty disappointed with the lenses that I got.  They were neither USM nor IS (75-300 wasn’t even EF-S!)...but at least selling the two lenses might get me a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.
