This sucks.  I was saving the $100 gift card I got for my birthday to buy some stuff @ BB this boxing day.  I think I’ll just eBay it, I suppose I can get 90% of it’s value if it’s free shipping!  Not even worth stopping by if these are the deals.  And to think last year I lined up outside for 10 hours…

I have looked at the Best Buy Ontario flyer about 3 times and I don’t see the 52” Sharp LCD TV or the Sony 60GB High Def camcorder anywhere.  Where are those prices coming from.

Their own brand Blu Ray for $99.00 is HOT.
Consumers reports rates it as “recommended” and at #3 of 15-18 players tested.

Thank you Andrew.  I didn’t see the page 2 smile

They want people to line up for these and get pissed when they go out of stock after 30 minutes of page refresh… you gotta be kidding.

Can I buy online now an item at regular price for local pickup, then ask for a price guarantee adjustment during boxing week if that item goes on sale cheaper?

Hello Guys,
I’m a bit new here.
I like the BB laptop of HP in Page 02 ($499.99).
Do you think it is a good deal?
If not, do you recommend any other laptop from any other store?
Thank you

aldaimee

You can’t get price protection on anything that is considered a doorcrasher or limited quantities. This is their loophole on getting you to come to the store to get the deal, rather than just adjusting a previous purchase.

Posted December 24, 2008 @ 12:44pm

hotshu

Are all items in the boxing day flyer considered limited quantities if the ad says 4,000 units available chain wide? Only some items are marked doorcrasher. The item I want doesnt say limited quantities, just the 4,000 available.

daSEXIESTman

Is the canon 790IS camera a good deal?

Posted December 24, 2008 @ 8:27pm

aldaimee

hotshu: that would be considered limited quantities.

Basically, you should order the item or go to the store and buy it and then return the original purchase. The Customer Service desk MAY just do an adjustment on the invoice IF the product is in stock at the store and you could have bought it at that moment.

i noticed that microsoft office says 3user but staples one does not and neither does the futureshop deal… are they all 3 user or just the best buy one?

Thought I’d provide an update. I picked up the 52 in. Sharp TV....the BB location I was at had 49 left as of 10:00am . I also wanted to buy one of the Rogers HD PVR boxes but they were already sold out when I got there...I wonder how many of the boxes each BB location had ??..Anyone know of any BB locations that still has any ?? I’ve tried callinjg around but of course they’re not answering the phones on what I’m sure is their busiest day of the year..

npoon all are 3 user.  Be aware that this version places “non-commercial use” text in the title bar next to the document name.  In all other versions it would be something like “Document 1 - Excel” but in the Home and Student version it says “Document 1 - Excel - Non-commercial use”.

ordered a LG 47” online. I was first 50 to finish the checking out and i thought i got the deal.  Checked the order status today , it shows in stock, will ship next business day. Just checked it again now, shows out of stock. What the heck!

Just off the phone call with bestbuy csr, no help at all, just told me it’s on back order and don’t know when it will become available.

So pissed off…

Why did they list 330 reserved for the east area in online sale while they actually don’t have them in stock?!

Thingwild, same situation here. I picked up the Sharp 52” Aquos, but they were sold out of the rogers hd boxes.

As far as I can tell, no locations in Toronto seem to have them in stock.

sm00nie, further update....I eventually found a Rogers HD PVR at a Rogers video store location near me...picked it up for the same $299 price...the thing is I also wanted one of the Rogers HD boxes (non PVR) and these were sold out. I attempted to phone several BB locations as I mentioned earlier but couldn’t get through. I also tried calling several 2001 Audio stores but they didn’t answr. I went to one of their stores but the line up to get into the store stetched outside and I wasn’t going to wait in the cold without knowing if they had any HD boxes left. I phoned several Rogers stores in my area and none of them had any HD boxes left. I spoke to the manager of one of the stores and he said they were expecting a shipment in on Monday and the price would be $150, less costly than the current $200 + today but more than the Boxing dfay sale price of $99. I even called Rogers Customer support to see if they would sell me a Rogers HD box for the $99 price...no joy with that...they did offer another lead which was to try The Brick as they were also selling the boxes...I went to one of the local The Brick locations but they were sold out. A Sears was next door and they had been selling the boxes as well but they were also sold out. The bottom line is that it appears that Rogers seeded various companies with limited supplies of these HD boxes to sell at $99 but certainly didn’t offer unlimited supplies.

sm00nie

You’re right. I dropped by bestbuy today to pickup a laptop and I noticed that the Rogers hd box was now $150 (Same price at Futureshop). Unfortunately, they were also out of stock today, but I’m hoping to get lucky tomorrow.

sm00nie

Update: Rogers HD Boxes (SA 4250) are sold out nationwide at Futureshop and Best Buy.
