Use the TD Canada Trust Simply Save Program, Get a Bonus of Up to $200
TD Canada Trust has an interesting promotion right now that has stirred up lots of discussion in our Personal Finance forums. It's called the TD Simply Save program, and the appealing part is that you can potentially get a $200 bonus from TD Canada Trust.
Here's how it works: Simply Save transfers a set amount of money from your chequing account to a savings account when you use your TD Canada Trust Access Card. Every time you reach $100 in "Simply Save savings", TD Canada Trust will give you a $10 bonus up to a maximum of $200. You have a fair amount of choice in how in how you set up the program, like how much is transferred per transaction ($0.50 to $5), what kind of transactions to include (debit, ABM withdrawal, or both), what kind of account your extra savings are moved into, and how often your savings will be transferred.
In a nutshell, for every $100 that is automatically moved to your savings account for you, TD Canada Trust will give you $10, up to a maximum of $200. You need to sign up by July 24, 2009 to qualify.

50 Foot CAT5e Ethernet Cable Sold out at $3 US… now $6.99 + Free Shipping @ eForCity.com
June 3 Update: It looks like the special is limited to 1 order per household, not 1 per order as we initially reported. We apologize for the error.
Originally Posted June 2: We've got the scoop on another limited quantity deal at eForCity.com. Starting on Tuesday, June 2 at 9:30PM EDT (that's later tonight), you'll be able to purchase a 50 ft Ethernet Cable, CAT5e (Gray) for $2.99 US with free shipping! You will need to use coupon code CAT5E50, and make sure you select standard shipping.
You will not see the discounted price until you enter the code during checkout. The $2.99 price is good for the first 2000 customers only. It will cost $6.99 for customers 2001 - 4000, and $8.99 for customers 4001 and on.
The code is limited to 1 use per order household so if you want more than one cable, you'll have to do separate orders. Note that delivery can take approximately 7-14 business days.

Explore Canada: Four One-Way Flight Credits Starting at $600 from Air Canada
Air Canada is offering a new Explore Canada flight pass this summer. For as low as $600 (if you fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays) or $840 (if want to fly any day of the week) you'll get 4 one-way flight credits for use any time between June 7 to October 17, 2009. Alternatively, you can get 8 one-way flight credits (for use by up to four people) for $1400. With these passes, your trips will start as low as $300 round-trip -- a pretty decent deal. Some of the passes are limited to travel within regions so you'll want to consult the map and list of cities for each pass before you buy.
The pass is on sale until August 1, 2009.
Here's the fine print: "Explore Canada Passes are non-refundable. Explore Canada Passes are available until August 1 and are valid for travel until October 17, 2009. Reservations of flight credits must be done at least seven 7 days before departure and are subject to Tango availability (K booking class)."

Planet Earth Blu-Ray (BBC Version) ~$45 Shipped from Amazon.co.uk
If you've been holding out for a deal on the critically acclaimed and gorgeous documentary Planet Earth, we've got a very interesting offer for you! Specifically, this is for Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series (narrated by David Attenborough) on Blu-Ray.
Amazon.co.uk (the United Kingdom Amazon site) has Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series for £24.98. With shipping (to a Toronto address), the order total was just £24.80 -- right near the $45 Canadian mark. In a long thread about this deal, some users have reported being hit with an additional $4.99 duty fee, but even so, it's a great price.
With the currently strong Canadian Dollar, it's a great time to shop!

Newegg.ca: Asus 25.5” LCD $349 + $30 USD MIR, Asus 23.6” 1080p LCD $220
June 3 Update: Free shipping has ended for the 23.6" LCD.
Originally Posted June 2: Shopping for a new computer monitor? Newegg.ca has a pair of deals that are worth a look -- especially if you're looking to step up to the 24" range or more.
First up is the ASUS VW266H Black 25.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor (w/D-Sub, DVI, HDMI, Component, and SPDIF out) for $349.99 with an additional $30 USD mail in rebate. This monitor was offered not too long ago for a higher price with free shipping. The free shipping is gone, but the price has been lowered. All told, you'll be paying about $415 after taxes, shipping, and the rebate. That's pretty much the same as last time, and it's a good deal! The LCD has 184 ratings and an average score of 4/5.
If you're looking for something a little more modest in size and price, Newegg.ca also has the ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor for $219.19. This one does come with free shipping. Like its bigger brother, it also has D-Sub, DVI, HDMI, Component, and SPDIF out connectors.
All in all, these are some versatile monitors with some pretty good prices. Note that Newegg.ca's "handling" charge is just where they list Canadian taxes. There's a $1 US fee attached to all orders that covers brokerage and ensures there are no surprise fees when your package arrives.

TigerDirect.ca: Logitech Z Cinema Speakers $92.99, Westinghouse 42” 1080p LCD Display $899.99 & More
TigerDirect.ca has some interesting deals right now that could inject some new life into your media centre or computer space. Let's take a look:
- Logitech Z Cinema Advanced USB Surround Sound System - 180 Watt 3 Speaker (2 Satellite Speakers & Subwoofer) - $92.99, (compare prices)
- I-Inc iF251HPB 25" Widescreen HD LCD Monitor - 1920x1080, 3000:1 Contrast Ratio, 2ms, HDMI, VGA, Energy Star, Tilt Stand, with Speakers - $269.99
- Westinghouse VM-47F140S 47" Widescreen HD LCD Monitor - 1920x1080, 1500:1 Contrast Ratio, 3 HDMI, DVI, VGA, 1080p, with Speakers - $899.99
The Logitech Z Cinema Surround Sound System looks like a good pickup at just $92.99. Other retailers, per PriceCanada.com, are selling it for anywhere from $175 to $300 or more.
We've seen the I-Inc 25" LCD cheaper in the past ($249), but if you're looking for a big LCD for your computer, $269.99 is still a pretty good price. We round things out with the Westinghouse 47" 1080p LCD Monitor. It doesn't have a built in tuner, but does have 3 HDMI inputs. It can still perform as a TV provided you have a cable box or satellite receiver.
