View allThe story is weaker than the first game's but the setup pulls you in enough. There are a few reasonably memorable characters but you're not going to get Atlas 2 or Sander Cohen 2 by any means.
The gameplay is fun, yet repetitive. Go here, kill them, go there, get that, come back, repeat. Mostly all the time, I loathe repetitive gameplay like this, but the improved combat and the exciting, engaging world of Rapture were what kept me playing for hours more. You also play as a Big Daddy instead of a human this time which makes no difference in gameplay, except you get to drill people in the face, which is in no way a negative.

Oh, forgot to mention; I just purchased Bioshock 1 and 2 earlier this morning and I can confirm that once I added the Steam keys to my library, the Remastered editions immediately showed up in my library as well.
And if it crashes during a save, that save file is corrupt and you have to start back at the one before that.
I'd wait a bit for some fixes to be released if you want to enjoy the games.
Sigh.
So somebody tell me, what prevents me from lending my copy to a friend so he could take a picture of this and get the game for free on Steam? They can't tell one copy from another...
Will probably send a ticket but judging from the post above, I don't expect much...
Can you please take a picture of the retail box and write down you steam account on a piece of paper and reply back.
I guess he didn't bother to open the attachment to the support ticket or he should have or could have known what I was trying to achieve.
only played half-way thru bioshock 1 and haven't played 2 yet
Both games just showed up in my library - took a few hours to propagate I guess.
At least early members of PS+ will have Bioshock Remastered for free.
I used to be strictly a PC guy, but wanted to still game a bit. I'd suggest you try a modern console (PS4 or Xbox One). Games go on sale often enough, it won't clutter your PC workstation, and it's way easier to jump on and get started than PC gaming. I don't know if the latest ones support KB/M like PC's do, but play enough and you a) get over the learning curve, b) realize a majority of modern games are designed for gamepads anyway. The biggest drawback (to me) is weaker graphics, and non upgradeability compared to PC.
There are more drawbacks, but if you're interested in gaming nowadays, you have no choice but to make a sacrifice somewhere. Gaming's moved on, my friend, and it's not returning to the previous ways ever.
Best of luck
I'm not overly paranoid about game DRM, but I use my high-end computers for important work, and I can't afford to have system integrity compromised by a hidden game DRM component. I would be more willing to clutter up an old secondary system, but those systems don't have the performance to play up-to-date games. Catch-22!
All I want is a game that installs cleanly, doesn't interfere with the system in any way when I'm not playing it, and leaves nothing behind when I uninstall it (not counting the usual orphan registry entries that almost everything leaves behind). By interference when not running, I mean using not system resources, phoning home, or checking everything that goes on in the drive access or graphics display chains.
You seem passionate about this, which makes me curious. You won't use Steam because of the DRM and resources used, so do you game at all? If you do, how do you avoid the resident programs, hidden DRM, registry keys, data collection, etc. that takes place with pretty much all modern games (heck, software)? I'd like to know so I can decide if it's viable alternative for me.
Thanks
EDIT: Just P.M. me if you don't want to share publicly
Gonna put my new 480 to work, max settings
If things have changed, I'd be glad to hear it. Please let me know! But I have a feeling that a lot of you just don't know what Steam does behind the scenes, and you don't care as long as you get to play your game. Which is perfectly fine if playing games is your primary purpose.
Nice I"ll consider this but I already have Infinite, just looking to get 1 and 2.
Only Infinite right? Looking for 1 and 2 ... Doesn't even look like they carry 1 and 2 anymore, just Remastered.
