The lack of any new 6-person FT content really left me cold, too. I know this is a personal preference, but from a social standpoint, I do way better in a group of 4 or more than I do with one or two other people. I found the 3-person content wound up being quite awkward, even with clan members I'd been running with for months. It really lacked that exciting party atmosphere that the 6-person Raids have.
The real killer for me was the progress reset in HoW. Yes, yes, I know, "BUT DUDE, ETHERIC LIGHT". That's cool any everything, but HoW still rendered all of my equipment essentially useless unless I wanted to re-grind for yet another absurdly rare mat. Before HoW, I had around a dozen really great Legendary weapons that I'd regularly swap between, depending on the scenario. Each character had at full Raid sets, plus a few choice Legendary pieces, adding an extra 15 pieces of kit that would need to be upgraded. In the two weeks I played HoW, guess how much Etheric Light I got? 1 piece. I would have needed 27 pieces of EL just to get me back to status quo (not even taking into consideration all of the Exotic Shards I'd need to buy to bring my Exotic gear up to snuff). I looked at that, figured out that I'd need to grind for literally MONTHS, put down my controller and walked away.
The Witcher 3 has been really fun, and CD Projekt Red actually respects their customer base, instead of treating them all like hamsters, or Farmville-esque addicts. It's quite refreshing!
Never will I buy a game from that bungie-sh*t company.
You get the soundtrack and the sheer amount of content is staggering with the quality.
Easily GOTY contender. Don't regret paying retail for it at all.
Now I need something to play that's fun, c'monn price drop witcher.
If you have only the base destiny game, I feel it would be more worthwhile to sell your copy of the game and buy the legendary edition if you want everything.
I'm in the same boat as you jetenginejesus. The quality of the DLCs are not worth the price they are charging. Even with the legendary edition, it seems like Bungie cares more about trying to get new players in than they do about the players they already got.
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Deluxe Edition: 18.75$
Saints Row IV: Re-elected & Gat out of Hell: 19.80$
1. they show both the original and updated price to clearly indicate the item is on sale, and how much of a discount it is
2. they show the dates/time the sale is valid for
Simple things that always should have been there, but weren't, at least last week or more
TTK Collector's Edition includes everything in the Legendary edition, plus a bunch of cheap garbage, plus some exclusive weapons, XP bonuses, armour shaders and emotes (i.e. new dances, new ways to point at things). You can pre-order the Digital version of the CE from Playstation for $80 (includes the "bonus" digital crap, but none of the physical crap).
If you buy them separately, TDB and HoW would normally cost $20 each; the season pass (including only TDB and HoW) is normally $35. TTK is $40 on its own. Essentially, then:
Season Pass + TTK = $75 (regular price)
Season Pass + TTK = $65 (during the current PSN sale)
Legendary Edition = $80
Digital Collector's edition = $80
Buying the existing DLC while it's on sale is your cheapest bet, although if you can find somewhere to sell your vanilla Destiny disk now (before it becomes unsellable when TTK comes out), you might be better off doing that and springing for the Collector's edition, depending on how much you care about the cheap junk and extra digital garbage they're hawking with it. If you can find someone willing to pay $15 for your vanilla disk, that'll get you the Digital CE for the same net price that you'd spend buying the DLC piecemeal.
IMHO, it's all hilariously overpriced, and I say that as a Day1 Guardian who played both the Alpha and Beta... Not worth it at all. The Taken King DLC will turn Destiny into the game it should have been at launch --- for 'eff's sakes, it's blatantly apparent from the UI that each class was always intended to have 3 sub-classes. They've just held it back to give people a reason to milk their player base for as much money as possible. I've already sunk close to $100 into this game, but I'll be damned if they squeeze another $40 out of me. It was a fun game, and it's still OK playing with my clanmates, but I find it extremely offensive that they'd keep pooping out such laughably small amounts of content, and have the gall to expect people to keep forking over their hard-earned dough. /rant
Oh wow, had no idea GW made its way over to Sony's console. That is extremely cool. I'd grab it for sure with PS+ if not for the fact that it locks you out from buying it.
EDIT: Apparently Rearmed 2 has some ghetto DRM attached to it. You can't play the game if you aren't signed into PSN. Great future proofing on that title. Real shame as I've been waiting to pick this up on the cheap for some time. Can't support something like this
It would be worthwhile if it includes the up coming King release.
But even then the DLC makes the game much more enjoyable. In fact most people don't have time to play all the game mode during the weekly update with all the DLC ( I put in 4-6h/day)_
For $24, definitely recommended if you are playing Destiny.
Its $80 on amazon currently, so for you buying the expansions separately would be best.
I like comic book games just for the hell of it, but wait for it to drop to $5 or lower. it really is *that* bad.
But... it just looks so god awful. I might bite if it ever hits $5.
X4 & X5 have been around 99c before, arkham origins vita was around
five a couple months ago... they didn't even try with this 1.
Does the Destiny expansion include the one coming out in Sept? I'll have to buy it if so, otherwise I'll hold out for the complete version. Lego Batman is tempting right now, but I should hold off.. I just bought Disney infinity lol. Not a bad price on MK either.
Thanks OP
