At least I still needed to do some shopping at the dreadful Chinook this morning.
Maybe next year..
So the one at London Drugs is the same as the amazon.com - with a '14.0-Inch diagonal HD sva bright view wled-backlit (1366x768)' ? - https://www.amazon.com/HP-Stream-14-ax0 ... B01JLCKP34oops = wrong one - this is one you're referring to (didn't see your previous post) with a IPS screen - https://www.amazon.com/HP-14-an013nr-14 ... SMBC7PC8A4
maybe I'll just get a chromebook :-)
Day and night different from HP 14 on Amazon.com
And the HP Stream 14-an010ca is at Walmart for $249. Not sure of all the differences between 010, 013 and 020 but I do notice the 010 has a 1 TB HDD instead of 32 GB emmc storage of the 020. - http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/hp-stream-1 ... 0196284889
Also not sure if it ending in 'ca' only means Canada or something else...and seems like the nr may mean AMD processor

If you can get hold of HP 14-an013nr, it is 14" FHD IPS, storage is upgradable, memory is upgradable. It went up by $20 couple days ago but it has been $199USD for a long time and I would expect it to come down again after boxing day. Anything comparable costs at least $450 in Canada.
Still looking for a budget beater laptop that I can get without mail forwarding..
$500 off is XPS 15 from $3299 down to $2799. Still way too much money.
Our wallets are safe. I might look at getitng accessory for my XPS.
6.5 hours away from possible last device deal. Just to recap, $319 contenders are
Inspiron 11 $399 | HD | 1366x768, 190:1, 51% sRGB
Inspiron 15 $547 | HD touch | 1366x768, 332:1, 56% sRGB
Inspiron 13 $549 | FHD touch | 1920x1080, 1000:1, 58% sRGB
I'm only planning on opening wallet if it's the last device. For something like Inspiron 11, I can see it going $299 on boxing day. Also your eyes will thank you for not wasting money on such horrendous device. Keep in mind US store is getting it for $199 so it's not much of a deal at all. It's quite disappointing they priced tablet at $74 vs $49 (50% premium). Our dollar is low but not that low.
