View allWorks great. Can even remove the batteries completely with this cable plugged in and the controller still works.
also figured out how to get it working with motionjoy installed without uninstalling it first
instruction's for windows 7. probably slightly different in windows 8 but I'm guessing it's similar
after you plug the dongle in and it sets everything up (might need to install the driver as well http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-ca ... or-windows )
go into devices and printers (in windows 7 just click start then type in devices and open devices and printer)
right click on Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows and click properties
click on the hardware tab and you'll notice the drivers it's using is motionjoy
click on properties
click on Driver tab
click Update Driver
click Browse my computer for driver software
click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
select Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows and click Next and stuff

Does Dollarama sell these?
If not then I'll just order this and wait the month or so. I want to get one of these so I don't have to take out my eneloops to recharge them every time.
Now is there any difference from the controller that comes with the dongle to a controller that doesn't? (onet hat is for the xbox 360 specifically).
Thanks a lot RedFlagDeals.

I just had to get rid of the MotionJoy driver first to install the xbox wireless receiver driver.
After I got the xbox controller working I plugged in my ps3 controller and installed the drivers for it.
Now both are working.
Turns out the MotionJoy driver kept overriding the XBOX 360 wireless receiver. Even after I completely uninstalled the MotionJoy drivers. It just kept coming back every time I plugged in the 360 wireless receiver. Finally figured out how to get it off my system for good. Now the controller is working. Tested it for a few mins in South Park: The Stick of Truth. Love it.
Can't believe it's still at the $34 price point.
It was back in March. I picked up two of them, but there was no dongle. This was fine because I had a 360 with no controllers (it was a YLOD I was given for free to fix)
The average price of this controller has been $51.27, highest price being $59.95.
This pricing has been tracked for almost 2 years.
The previous lowest price for this controller was $37.99, way back in May.
If this was the version without the adapter, the price average wouldn't be $50+
