MegaBus.com: Almost-Free Travel Between Toronto and New York, January 14 - March 18

Here's a good deal for anyone who's got a trip from Toronto to New York planned: Megabus.com is offering some almost-free bus fares -- use coupon code greenbus and just pay the 50-cent booking fee! It probably goes without saying, but these tickets will sell out very, very quickly, so don't delay in booking. Also note that "preferred" travel dates such as weekends will in high demand, so you may have to do some digging to find almost-free fares. This offer is valid on travel between January 14 and March 18, 2009.

Once you get your free ticket to New York, tickets from New York to cities like Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC can be booked as well.

  It worked for me, maybe the dates you selected were unavailable. Weekends are very popular and may be hard to get.
  
  BTW, I booked Thurs Feb 12th (for free) returning on Mon Feb 16th (for free).

  I agree. I take Megabus to Buffalo Airport all the time. Even if you aren't able to take advantage of this promo, if you book way in advance, you can still get fares for as low as $1 each way.

  You can get hotel deals via Priceline.com near the area where the bus drops people off in NYC. You can get two star hotels in the area for $60 a night.
