If you're planning on a hotel stay before March, 2013 you might want to book it through Hotels.com now -- they're offering a 10% discount to the first 15,000 people that book with the coupon code AUGUSTCA10.

This coupon code can be applied to hotel stays up until March 31, 2013 when you book by September 14 (while quantities last). There is a limit of one coupon redemption per person, so even if you cancel your first reservation you will not be able to redeem the 10% on another reservation.

- Thanks OP, coupon used in Buffalo for next weekend. The prices are ridiculously high, this helped bring it down a bit. They also have a price match guarantee if you find it cheaper elsewhere they will match the lower price.

- For those who have used hotel.com before. Have you ever had to cancel a hotel booking before, and are there any service/additional charges whatsoever? Can you cancel and get back 100% back at any time? If you can, is cancelling simple enough online or does one have to haggle with an agent in order to cancel? Please advise before I book? Thanks

- As long as the hotel has free cancellation, canceling a reservation is as easy as a mouse click. Be sure to save your cancellation confirmation number until it has been processed by your credit card.

- Actually some booking have no cancellation (ie final sale). During the booking it will tell you whether it is a "no-cancellation" booking. Normally, these are the lowest price ones.
  Just check when you book.

- so this morning i called hotels.com for a quote and was able to use the coupon code. just half an hour ago i called back to book whatever i had been quoted in the morning and this new csr wont let me use the coupon code anymore. and it's for the same hotel chain. any thoughts?

  I just tried to use the code and it came back with an error saying that it cannot be used. I think the code is already expired. Based on the fine print:

- For people who use the Hotels.com/.ca Welcome Rewards program it is really not that great of a deal; Welcome Rewards seems to give you 10% off (11th day free) and when using this code you are not eligible for the Welcome Rewards.
