If your travels take you through Pearson International Airport, you'll be pleased to learn that free Wi-Fi service is now available.

It's a welcome (and overdue) change from the pay-only internet access. Thanks to YLSF for letting us know about this one!

- I am in the GTA. .....its about time ...... how hard was it for them to setup a bunch of wireless routers anyway .....what a joke it took this long ....in advanced cities like Hong Kong, internet was free at airport like decades ago (ok I am exaggerating but you get the idea) ....also even in the city, most (if not all) cafes and other businesses have free wifi ...... the recent starbucks announcement sounded like they are doing us a huge favour ......it costs them next to nothing to provide but it provides so much customer satisfaction ....I am actually shocked this is NOT done MUCH EARLIER

- I am not surprised as pearson is rated pretty poorly among wolrd airports. What would you expect from the airport that nickel & dimes you + charges some of highest if not the highest landing costs and fees in the WORLD.
  
  At the very least they could do is offer free wifi, maybe they feel this will lead to an increase in passengers / revenue and deter consumers from driving across border to Buffalo?

- uhh... rated poorly by who? It may be expensive but it's one of the nicer airports in the world IMO. Especially the new terminal.

- IDK why someone said its been free forever, my last trip in february was not free! But I had my iPhone so I was able to tether for free ....good to know I can bittorrent for free at the airport now instead of using my own bandwidth when I go next week

- A few years ago, it used to be free on mobile devices in chunks of 15 mins with advertising. Last June, I tried and it wasn't working anymore.
  
  Glad to see that they finally include it since the Air Canada lounges now charge some customers for it!

  I don't think Pearson is loosing much busines to people driving across the border. It's only cheaper to fly from Buffalo if your flying to the US and sometimes US to Canada. Any Euro / Asia trips are seldom cheaper than YYZ. Deals to sunny destinations tend to be better (and direct) from YYZ. People who tend to fly to the US from YYZ are travelling on business, where time is money.

  LOL, you think Pearson cares about vacationers? They care about business travellers, who generally cringe at connecting flights. Let alone a 2 hour drive / 4 hour return drive + border crossing. Also in the winter time, more flights are cancelled out of Buffallo, the airport cannot deal with as much snow and ice as YYZ can and the drive to niagara can be dicey in the winter.
  
  Personally I fly from both Buffalo and Toronto, but YYZ isn't trying to target cheapo redflagdealers looking for southwests below cost flights.
