  In December I went YOW - TPE Taiwan for $1250.00 all in which was a hot deal. The price with this deal comes to $1400.00 with taxes n fees from Ottawa to taiwan. A very good price considering its peak season - Chinese New Year!
  
  This deal is with Cathay pacific. That means better service: More meals with More choices and Free Booze.

- No deal for me even though I'm going to Beijing around that time. Cathay transfers through HKG and is $800 more expensive than Air Canada which is direct (saves 7 hours as well).

- It's at best warm. I have a flight with cathay, YYZ-HKG return during that time period and booked it for $1180 tax and fees all in.

- Some reasonable prices to asia. I've only flown on Cathay Pacific once for a short flight and it was pretty good. In general from the reviews I've read they are pretty good.
  I've flown Cathay on multiple flights, long and short. Service is one of the best in the biz. Not just "pretty good". It's easily first rate! Highly recommended.

  A few yrs ago, you could buy a bike on the spot comme Top Gear's Vietnam Special... but I read how they recently changed the foreign ownership rules/licensing for motorbikes/scooters.

- Whoa 1563$ w/tx for yul->bkk at their "special" 989$ fare... Clearly no deal for yul departures. Qatar has some good deals from yul in May and so does AF (~1250 tx in). Thx OP though!

  I love the service with CP and the potential departure times. However the new seats are so uncomfortable.
  
  With AC I know the service will be OK and the seats recline back. I'm not fond of the available departure times.
