    • Are we still able to use our own router with internet 150? If so will the person installing it be able to do it or do I need to unhide a line in the HTML to enable bridge mode?

I think tv stops working if you do that. The fiber 150 router is not bad actually. Its dual band AC w/ gigabit ports

    • Port 1 can be set to bridge mode in the Telus router settings so you can use your own router.

You can use your own router and still use TV. TV connections go into the Telus modem. CXs devices operate through CX router.

With the new advanced wifi modem there is an option to bridge port 1 so you can use your own router. In the modem Gui, it's under advanced settings.

    • The internet 150 is of course limited on if it's available in ur area. If ur building hasn't been set up for fibre yet, Telus will need to install a fibre line from the street to ur house/apartment. Complications may arise if u live in a condo or something which may need strata permission. Although most places in Vancouver (except downtown) know of this and fibre can be installed in most houses and apartments. They will sometimes just run a line to the house or ur apartment, punch a hole in the wall, run it directly into ur unit, then seal the hole up with this putty gunk stuff.

      https://fibre.telus.com/vancouver/availability/

Of course u can use ur own router, I believe fibre is easier, since the line will run into a fibre modem. The telus tech won't be setting up ur router for u, that will be ur job if u want it. They will set up the fibre modem and the actiontec (or whatever they give you). Even if the fibre modem is an all in one modem/router (i do not think this is the case), most of telus's modems can be set up in bridge mode now, so you can still use ur own modem. You will wanna make sure your router is strong enough for the 150/150 connection. If you are running OpenWRT with bufferbloat protection or some cpu intensive stuff, 150 may be pushing the limits on it.

    • They do a hard credit check, which you can decline and pay a deposit but you will not get the $50 prepaid gc automatically. Not sure why. Spoken with telus rep.

    • Existing Telus customers can get the deal. Anybody know if the $50 gc can also be received by existing customers or do you have to switch from Shaw?

But it's probably only 8 months again. I would prefer the full year, then just renew.

I can't find the Shaw plan yet though.
