I wanted 100Mbps but Telus doesn't offer it in my neighborhood. Telus has been OK during the day but speeds at night during peak times (~9pm-midnight) have been really, really slow.
I was tempted to switch to Shaw's 150Mbps plan but past experience with Shaw is similar - very slow speeds at peak times. So I didn't really want the hassle of a new installation and credit check for uncertain results.
New TELUS Modems don't allow your 3rd party router to get an external IP. Aka Modem only mode... or "Bridge Mode."
Your Modem is stuck in a router mode causing you to have your router behind their router.
Solution? A little webhack.
A hidden menu option on your telus modem to enable bridge mode. I did this on my new TELUS Modem and now I'm running bridge mode flawlessly. My Router is getting an external IP and everything is happy in the world.
Link to the tutorial. Super easy. I've been running it like this a few weeks now.

they wouldn't give it to me, so I tried to match with shaw 150, then they tried to sell me 50mbps for $50. NO!!
In the end, I got 50mbps for $45 for one year
Telus fiber isn't available in my area, but I'd be ok with Internet 50 with unlimited bandwidth. I am looking for a 1 year term, no contract.
Thank you
$35 + $15 = $50 first 3 months
$35 + $25 = $60 for 4-12th month
Can you comment how Telus' voicemail work?
My home phone's system have built-in voicemail. But I love the fact how with Shaw, all my voicemails goes into their system. I can log onto's Shaw's website no matter where I am in the world, and view these voicemail. And if needed, save the .wav file.
Is this how Telus' VM work too?
Im not happy with price I pay to Shaw, so 12 months of promotional pricing would be ok.
