    • To get these plans, you need a student number. However, Rogers cannot verify if you are actually a student or not due to FIPPA law.

An unscrupulous RFD'er could find that most universities use 9 digit student numbers, and by giving a 9 digit number to Rogers, they would have no way of knowing whether it's valid or not.

    • Canadian universities only or can be online international ones. (legit with proof). Also, what happens after the year?

I just renewed mine, I have it from last August. They need your student number, school email address and name. I don't know if international ones would work.
After one year, you plan cost will automatically change to the regular price.

      Internet (1 year no contract):
      30/5 300G for $45/mo
      60/10 400G for $55/mo
      100u for $65/mo
      250u for $75/mo

Wireless (partial information, did not update on website, phone in):
Bonus 2Gb data on Share Everything plans (at least 5Gb required)
      5Gb Canada-wide calling texting for $110

I did not get all the information for wireless, because they are not attracting.
Most retention plans (loyalty plans) are better.
For example: The rep offered me 7Gb data Canada-wide for $100, $10 cheaper than student promo. I did not take it since I don't need that much data.
$100 for 2 phone lines? Or one?

I don't know if they can verify if one is currently a student or not.
But from 2013, new University of Toronto students are getting 10 digits student number, so if you mentioned UofT to Rogers and using a 9 digit student number starting 998XXXXXX or 997XXXXXX or even less, they could know you are 5th year or "6 year" student.
Addition to that, UofT email automatically changed from @mail.utoronto.ca to @alum.utoronto.ca after graduation, so they might know from this, too.

$100 for 1 line, addition line w/ local calling adds $30.

If it was 2 lines I will definitely take it.

Yes, this year's student promo are all $5 expensive than last year's.
Also make sure you are on 2 year contract, other wise you will pay much more after it expired.

      This is true.

I just checked last year's options and this year is all $5 more and a bit more usage.

Mine was actually only 1 yr contract w regular rate at $71.99 LOL. I would been nicely surprised by that Bill.

The question now is if there will be a better option by the time September comes(expiry). Also if I were to switch to this one, when is the expiry date on the deal so I can delay as much as possible?

I don't think they will have a better one, they offered 100u $69.99/mo 2 years contract several times. But I also hear someone getting $65/mo 2 year contract.
The expiry date of this student promo is Sept. 30

I called their Chinese rep line. Easier for me to chat. She put the extension on the day my current promo ends (Aug 12th). So I can take full benefits of that.

I was going to call in and see if that was possible, to apply the new promo after the old one ends.

I assume it's impossible to get old 1yr promo to be extended for another year or so?
