7-Eleven Speakout Top-Up Bonus: Buy a $100 Wireless Voucher and Get a $25 Bonus and a SIM Card Free

Speakout Top-Up Bonus
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

SpeakOut is a prepaid wireless service from 7-Eleven that's quite popular in the RedFlagDeals.com forums. Through August 31 they're offering a $25 bonus top up on the purchase of a $100 wireless top up voucher. And you'll get a free SIM or MicroSIM Card as well!

These offers are both available through August 31 in-store and online. Use this page to find the 7-Eleven nearest you. The prepaid airtime has an expiration date of 365 days from purchase.

Of course, prepaid plans definitely aren't for everyone, but they're ideal for people who don't use their cell phone frequently or don't want to make a three-year contract commitment with a carrier.

    • Nice to see you again Traid and glad to see your account balance is quite...err...healthy. Thanks for the update, I was waiting for it again. I wonder what new data plans at in the works. Probably can't beat UMB with proxies.

      Here this WARNING NOW!!!

The Unlimited browsing option is on death row... so to any nubs out there topping up expecting a year of this feature better think twice... They began to throttle users already, so I dont want to hear people B******* and whining when Speakout does cancel it for the second time!

Just go to the 7-11 tips and tricks thread and you will see what I mean... The gravey train has reached the destination... it was good whilst it lasted. Hopefully Speakout will be able to offer 2G data with all open ports like T_mobile and dump the stupid proxy BS...

Ummm... it is 2GB... Are you new to Canada? the word unlimited in telco speak means limited... ya go figure! in the TOS is stated 2GB... unless you knew the trick like me you could have been using 30GB/month easy without being detected.. muhaha!!

The thing is that it was never suppose to be 3G speeds. Thus 2GB at sleazy GPRS speeds is technically unlimited because even if you are using data packets 24/7 there is no way you can use up 2GB (lets say 8kbps it would take just about 23 days to transfer 2GB non stop) , now for EDGE I dont think Rogers allows all 10 slots.. anyway what I am saying is that people went nuts when 3G was opened up, and I was the one who said " You might as well abuse it because it will end even if you dont"

So yea, 2G data even 2GB is plenty as long as they do not put the data through stupid proxy servers... because most apps do not work, even with Autoproxy, Android 4.0 or Windows Phone or iPhone configurator... especially E-mail servers dont like the proxy...

    • ^^ the thing is that most people already have REAL internet! Like 500+GB from Teksavvy, they dont use cellphone internet as some poor man's replacement internet like some! Herein lies the biggest problem.

THe best thing to do is to give 2GBs of internet away for FREE or a subsidized price like $1/month or something and people who use more the increments are more costly - like say $5 for every GB past 2GB! So they subsidize everything! it would be like the opposite of how it is now!

not everyone lives in a place with access to high speed internet.. you can find many people only able to get dial up in Canada... So to call them poor is a poor choice of words.. think of our Farmers!

As for 500GB, some people only need a few GB per month just to check Emails look up stuff and computer updates... they dont need half a terr to allow microsoft to watch them 24/7 plying Nazi-controlled-Xbox so that they can make $$$ from eveyone in the room (hehehe), or sptream crappy old netfix titles.. If you are into multimedia or any data intensive processes then yes you do need 500GB.. also pr0n is a legit reason, but pr0n aside Bell used to have a 1GB plan, so even at 2GB that would be INSANE!!! especially at these wallet violating prices that the telcos charge, just look at Text messages...There is no freaking reason why the price of 1 text message should be $0.25. The CRTC should look into that, because in the beginning when GSM came out on Fido and Rogers still had TDMA, all incoming text messages were FREE F-R-E-E-E.

The sender paid, then they charges you $0.10 to receive, the $0.15, then $0.20 and now a quarter, and that is crazy because its like charging you just for having your phone ring.. oh wait they DO do that.. Send to end... if you let the phone ring out for 40 seconds then pick up you get charged for that 40 seconds... EVEN if there is DEAD AIR between the 2 networks!!!!

OK this Rant against the scum racketeering Government and telcos can go on for hours...

This deal IS Good just as long as you do not expect to ue the $$$ up on data, especially if you receive many text messages per month (HINT HINT)

    • thanks for the reminder,
they will probably let it run for few more months before they roll out the pricey real data.

it's sad to see my youtube app stopped working recently (compressed pixels), it used to work fine before.

    • excellent.

i'd rather prefer 711 change their unlimited browsing plan to something else.

can't do anything and with proxies, it's slow as hell.

i'll try out a new data plan, and frankly, if it's a pay to go system, i'd like it since i dont even use data a lot anyways.

SIM is needed to have speakout service.

After you put your SIM in your phone, you can call speakout to port your number from your previous carrier to match your SIM card.

stupid question but this means they can port my speakout number from my big sim to another speakout microsim right?

I cannot see why not. If people lose their phone, Speakout cabn transfer the account to another SIM card. I cannot see how this situation would be much different. I would talk to a Speakout CSR to get a better idea on how they could handle this.

    • so 10 UMB is still alive? i thought someone said it was dead june this year, i guess its still going?
7-11 said they weren't ready with the new data plans, and so extend the UMB for the time being.
But UMB download speed is now capped at 0.2 Mbps (It was 3+ Mbps before). However, they removed the restriction of low quality image files; i.e., images on browsers are finally showing properly without using Proxy.
