The P90X program is an intense home workout regimen that has created a fair amount of buzz. It might not be a program for everyone, but $89.99 for it with free shipping is certainly a good deal as P90X normally costs $120 or more.

    • i also saw it for the same price at Pharmaplus in Promenade mall (Toronto)... they had a whole table of them along with several Perfect Push-Ups (the rotating push-up bars)

      it depends how fit you are currently. this is an intense workout and takes up a lot of time (6 days per week, 1-1.5 hours per day). what i did was started with Power 90 (http://www.power90.com). it's from the same company and is the predecessor to P90X. workouts are about 40min - 1 hour which is more manageable.

      I am not so sure about how useful it is for getting out of plateaus. Depending on what you mean by intermediate to advanced level. A national level powerlifter probably wouldn't be able to get through a plateau on his squats/deadlifts/bench max using p90x. If anything, it will set me back. Got this as an xmas gift and was watching the better half use it with her sister, some pretty intense workouts, and its great for the avg person because people love to have something to follow.

      A lot of common sense would be able to make just as effective workouts, but the good thing about p90x is that you just follow along and do it. If your motivated enough to give it your all, it will work for you. Particularly if you follow the diets as well, since 90% of it is in the nutrition.

      touche....but it's a HUGE t*rrent--many many gigs. and if you want to burn it to dvd, it'll take 12 dvd's and a while to burn them all.

    • I wouldn't recommend this program for somebody starting from scratch (ie. tired after climing couple stairs). You need some kind of fitness background before starting this, workouts are really long and hard and you need to be really motivated to do the whole 90 days.

      But if you manage to make it through, it pays off!!

      no, it doesn't come with the chin-up bar or resistance bands.....i got my chin-up bar on ebay. it was exactly like the p90x one (same grip setup--here's the same one: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Chin-Up-Pull-Up-P...A1|24 0%3A1318). i got my resistance bands from beachbody.com directly--couldn't find any that actually said what resistance weight they were equal to.
