Starbucks: Get $5 Free by Registering a Starbucks Card (New Members Only, Ends 3/14)

Starbucks: Get $5 Free by Registering a SB GC
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

If you're a fan of Starbucks but haven't registered a Rewards Card as of yet, here's a good opportunity to take advantage of a sweet limited time promotion. Until March 14, new members who register a Rewards Card will get $5 absolutely free. That's right -- by simply activating a card you'll get $5 added to the balance of your existing card. We've never turned down $5 free-ish dollars before and we aren't about to start now!

That's all there really is to it -- register a new card, get $5. More information can be found at the Starbucks website and from this FAQ. The deal ends March 14.

Thanks to djemzine for sharing this one with us!

You would have to join as a new member for each card

"I’m already a My Starbucks Rewards™ member. If I register a new card to my account will I receive $5?
Sorry, this offer is valid only for new members...."

    • I don’t have a Starbucks Card. How can I get the $5 offer?

Pick up a Starbucks Card from your local store and register it online. A $5 minimum load is required.
or Download the Starbucks mobile app, create an account and get a digital card.
So could you potentially buy multiple $5 cards and sign up on each? Or multiple "digital cards"

Yup to the first question. I think the same applies to the digital card too.

    • Plus I believe if you register, you get a free drink (any drink and size) on your birthday. From my experience you don't have to use it on your actual birthday but will expire after a few weeks.

    • Only downside is you can't transfer from a registered card to another registered card. That would have been awesome.

EDIT: Just UNregister your card after your get the $5 credit and then you can transfer that $5 to your main everyday card. PERFECT

Just bring the printed E gift certificate you already have from the living social.. but the balance will be $15 instead of $10 on it now. (since it's registered)

As people said, this promo is exploitable and Starbucks would stop this promo once they realize it.

    • This is the post of the year for any Starbucks frequenter...

I literally cannot see how Starbucks will allow this promo to go on till 03/14. If you can figure out how to simply exploit it (as already shown in this thread) then this promo is just a gold-mine.

50% of coffee for life... duh duh duh ... hahaha.

Weigh your own opportunity cost on the situation.. but for people who frequent SB often... you have my omniscient nod of approval... HAHAHAHA

oh... and I'm going to take 100+ thanks on the over/under for the OP. hahaha!
