Originally Posted January 12: Spend $25 or more in a single purchase (before tax) at an Ontario Loblaws, Superstore, Valu-Mart or Fortino's in Ontario and get a Free PC Green Box. The PC Green Box is a sturdy, reusable alternative to plastic shopping bags and for this price, you can't go wrong.

Excluded from the $25 Purchase total are: tobacco, prescriptions, eyewear, dry cleaning, gas bar, lottery, gift cards and third-party services. Fortunately everything else applies to your order total for the promotion, and we're pretty sure that just about anyone can spend $25 at the grocery store.

The promotion ends January 22, 2009.

  when buying groceries, you put them in these so as to save on using plastic bags. they fit into the shopping cart and then directly into your car. obviously if you're walking or taking transit, they're not so handy...

  it says participating stores in Ontario. The participating stoes are mostly doted around toronto, not GTA

  There is a PDF showing all the participating locations. Basically, this deal applies only to the City of Toronto because us lucky Torontonians now have to pay 5 cents per bag at ALL grocery stores thanks to a new law that was passed.

  WTF? People rarely take advantage of recycling programs for these bags, and 5 cents is a pittance. It's a shame that this is Toronto only (the charge, not the green bin - we already have two of them).

  Ran into the same prob with my dogs until i found them at costco i think it was like 1000 for 20$ which works out to 2 cents per poop

  If I head that way I may stop and find $25 worth of non-parshibles to find. I have an old purple bin and use it quite regularly especially as an overnight bag when I go to my parents.
