    • A rather clever marketing gimmick imo. Create an inflated price, then reduce that inflated price to create the illusion of a hot deal. Department stores such as the Bay does this kind of thing all the time with their merchandise. Jack up the price, then slash it by 50% and watch the people gobble it up thinking it's a deal. Ideally, this signature wrap should be priced at about $2.99 regular price. When I tried one, all I could taste was the tortilla and the mayo. The chicken was a slight after taste at best.

Expensive at $5 for sure, but the deal makes it $0.50 better than your ideal price.

I agree with the price...I used the mobile coupon last time, and though the grilled Thai sauce one was pretty nice...decent and filling size...

I'd rather buy this for $2.50 than the snack wraps for $2 anyday.

At $5, you won't see me buying it. Just like I never purchased the McBistros' outside those specials...Junior Chicken FTW

      It's an up-sized chicken wrap.

Meanwhile at Hong Kong McDonald's... black and white burgers. $17.60 HKD is about $2.50 CAD for just the burger. Bacon, lettuce, chicken or beef patty and mash potatoes.

The black one looks unappetizing. $2.50 isn't that bad.

    • For those going to buy this, warning ahead of time they put way too much mayo in the wrap. Either ask for little or no mayo and tastes much better.

Unless you enjoy your sammiches tasting like eating out of a mayo jar.

    • Agree with the price comments. $5 bucks?!?! Never! At half price I'd try one. I did try one during the one day cell phone special. The sweet chile one. It was pretty tasty but I can't say it was fantastic. How they figure they'll shill these for $5 is beyond me. But then again, I think a Big Mac at 4.50 is pretty ridiculous too.

Thank god I brown bag it and am not at the mercy of the fast food industry.

    • just get 3 double cheese burgers and ask them to put it in a big mac bun and add letuce and big mac sauce and you can get an equivalent of 3 big macs for $4.50

    • No it doesnt work.
They will end up charging you for extra toppings.
I am able to get a mcdouble now and then dressed like a mac for 1.59. Just make sure a manager isnt around when you order.

I found that some locations add extra cents when the cashier punches these extras or alterations. But on slow times of the day some cashiers just yell them towards the back. The manager probably isn't around.

Last month's news say that they hope the McWrap will help McDonald's bounce back from a poor sales trend, so expect it to be a high-margin item. That said, your typical corner wrap restaurant does charge $5-$6 for a similar handmade wrap ... I guess we incessantly demand better pricing from McD for some reason... And I guess it's McDonald's own fault for setting this consumer expectation.

How much is the McWrap in the states, anyone know?

i gave up on this about 5 to 8 yrs ago when mcds jacked up the prices to the point it was cheaper to eat at sit down restaurant and be fuller!

    • I'm positive that McDonalds had these a few years back as I remember the cardboard packaging where you ripped the pull-strip around the middle of the wrap to open it.

Could be coming back as a permanent menu item?

Haven't had fast food in months - debating whether or not to give this a try this week.

3.99 in NY. I like the ranch one they have in the States. It has cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and butter milk ranch dressing.

    • I pretty much exclusively order McDoubles as far as sandwiches go at McDs (if I'm going there, it's to stay there for three to four hours to take advantage of refill stations while studying or reading, now that's being frugal lol), and I think they're only like $1.29 each so cheap.

That said, do the Signature Wraps qualify as 'sandwiches' ie. you can buy one and use those 'get a free medium fries/side salad + free medium drink' survey coupons? $5 on its own I wouldn't bother but if they count for the coupon I wouldn't have a problem trying one if it tastes decent.
