    • Anyone know why the Licks in Brampton at Queen and Bramalea is not included in their list of restaurants. Did they close?

They're making money. If they didn't like it they could always go work for a different burger franchise.

    • Haven't been to Lick's in ages. This might be the time to grab a burger for sure, though. Any thoughts on the quality? Does it even matter for a quarter?

    • Dont know if its the same thing, but they had a Friends and Family thing a month or two ago advertising Burgers for $1...I thought great, went in, ordered the Burger for $1, guy told me my total was $8.**.

Apparently you had to order the combo, and I'd been awhile since I'd been there, but there basic combo is about $13.**.

Again. not sure if it's the same idea, just saying I wouldn't get your hopes up about getting a burger for $0.25.

    • I remember when they had these promos more regularly back in the day...lineups were very long (i.e. way out the door), but they moved people through as quickly as they could. I think the maximum time I have waited was close to 30 min (this is during the dinner hour).

There's no additional purchase necessary for this one. Line ups are usually long all day for these promos.

If they don't mind, I'm going to repeated go back in line for more.

That's their regular discount coupon offer. I remember them doing the $1 Home Burger and waited for around 20 minutes.

    • Further to my post above, what they used to do is every month, they would have an item for 23 cents or something. Basically it was to celebrate 23 years in business or something like that. There were a variety of items offered, from fries, poutine, ice cream, etc. One month it would be the burger, and of course that was the big draw. They did this for several years in a row IIRC, upping the price each year by a penny to match their number of years in business.

Looking at this press release, I guess their business has taken a hit because of the recall. Probably just looking for a way to get people back in the restaurants.

    • I don't know if it's because of the recall, quite honestly. Last time I went to Lick's, on a Wednesday night around 6 PM, the employees looked miserable (as someone else had pointed out--though this could be for a number of reasons), the place was empty, the decor was outdated, and there were about 5 LCD TV screens displaying menus. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why this place might not be doing well. Although I enjoyed my Nature Burger, my two friends ordered salads and they were both very unsatisfied with their meals. The chicken Ceasar cost $9.00 and not only was it extremely small, the chicken was lukewarm and you had to put it together yourself in the plastic container. Aside from the burgers, which are quite decent, there are definitely places that offer better quality for less. But I will be happy to go there for a $0.25 veggie burger!

Thanks. I drive by all the time and didn't notice any difference. I guess that's why it is closed. I guess I'll stick with the chicken burger at Mary Brown's on Saturday.
