April 15 Update: Just a reminder, this great freebie is today!

Originally Posted April 12: On Thursday, April 15 you'll get Free Brewed Coffee from Starbucks if you bring in your own reusable mug! Starbucks offers this promotion every year to support and promote the idea of Earth-friendly alternatives to paper cups!

The reusable mug does not have to be Starbucks-branded.

Here's a press-release about the offer and here's a Canadian-specific page that includes a tumbler-themed contest (open to Toronto and Vancouver residents only, unfortunately).

- Just a heads up, the promo is supposed to only cover regular coffee but if you ask for something else they might go for it. If they say no and you're feeling ballsy, remind the barista that the Starbucks motto is "just say yes" and they might change their tune.

  The contest is only Vancouver and GTA. The free coffee is something they do every April. Also it is not always on earth day, but it is in the month of earth day. This year it is on the 15th of April. It should be Canada-wide as per last year.

- They seem to do this every year. I guess it entices regulars to buy a coffee mug, always forget to use it. That way, once a year if you order coffee you will buy the mug just for the "free" coffee.
  
  To add some icing on it, you are doing the environment a favor by buying a reusable mug that will be used only once.
  
  However, I know that on the 15th, I'm gonna bring a bunch of mugs and have em filled. Then pass em around to office and be the nice guy for the day.

- oh, even less around 3.5-4 cents. well yes actually i do drink starbucks sometimes, more often when its the only coffee place around and i need one.
