this offer is expired

Here's a pretty sweet almost freebie courtesy of Shutterfly.com. Right now, you can get a free 8x11, 20-page photobook using the promo code GUESTBOOK at the checkout. Yes, you have to pay for shipping (around $6.99) but you end up saving about $40 which isn't too bad overall. If you have some digital photos you'd love to see in hard copy, here's a good opportunity to get them printed at a very low cost.

The freebie is live now but expires on July 14.

Thanks to pathfinder35 for sharing this deal with us!

    • Thanks OP.

I used a code off a GreatWolfLodge handout when we were there but made a book with our Disney Cruise pics, same price Free+$6.99 shipping.

I wonder if I can make another book, I guess I have to send it to a different address.

Don't the pages come with the GWL logo on them?

    • Are these books custom (meaning I upload the pictures with the book and they print it and send it - instead of simply a book with cutouts to add my own)? Also does anyone know how long shipping will take approx? I may order one.
      Many thanks in advance!

I've ordered one last year and I am pretty sure you can rearrange the default page designs to create more windows for photos etc. I didn't do any journaling though so not sure how you can add extra text on each page. If you have done other photobooks before you probably will be able to figure it out. The quality of the book was really good so I am going to take advantage of this sale to order another one.

      Thanks, OP!

      Welcome to RFD.

I read that too, so it may mean orders tied to the same name, email and/or billing address will not be processed.

You can read that a different way if you want.

    • Hmmm, I was excited and tried to order mine but it says my account is not eligible for this promotion. I've ordered address sticker with them before but not photo book... I guess you I couldn't have ordered anything with them? So sad :-(

    • Also, same shipping for US. I got this book with pictures for Fathers day. Its good quality, and my wife did an amazing job with putting everything together.

As to what was alluded to previously, I'll be more direct - setup a new account with a different email address.

    • It worked for me, no problem (so far)... I have placed orders before on my account (actually, I placed a different order last night!) I suppose they could cancel this freebie if anyone looked into it, but we shall see.

Actually, I usually ship my orders to my sister in the US, but in this case, CND shipping was cheaper ($6.99 to Canada vs $8.99 to US). Weird because the books are printed in the US.

    • If you are serious about your photos and don't want shutterfly to "enhance" them for you, make sure to turn off VividPics. This needs to be done before adding any picture to a photo book.

    • Thanks OP, I used mypublisher before, and it looks like the 2 companies merged about 2 months ago ...

I can't speak for the shutterfly quality, but mypublisher was A+ ... at least for my orders.

    • While I didn't take advantage of this deal, I have made MANY photobooks at Shutterfly. The quality can't be beat! And making your photobook can be as easy or complicated as you want it to be. For example, upload all the pictures you want for a book and then you can select how you want the book made. You can simply pick a "theme" and Shutterfly will do all the work for you, arrange your pictures with appropriate backgrounds, etc. But if you are more like me and like to be very hands-on, you can create a book from scratch, pick your pages, pick your layouts, pick background colours and patterns, frames, embellishments, captions - everything! Really easy, shipping is fast and the cost is extremely reasonable.

Join and sign up for email offers. Shutterfly is always sending deals like this to their members, from free 8x8 books, to free shipping to 20-50% off and more, and some of these offers are combinable.

A great tip. Join shutterfly, upload your pictures and create your book. Then wait. Wait until the perfect deal comes up and then print it. For me, it takes me a lot of time to make a book because I want everything to be just right. More often than not, I can't complete a book in time before a particular offer runs out, so what I do is make the book ahead of time. Then when I get an offer for a free book, I go back and hit "print". Really easy!

I also always used Mypublisher before - we'll see how good the book is - I just ordered one today - the last day. The SD thread mentions photos coming out darker than expected. I never had that problem with MyPublisher...

There's a new Shutterfly free photobook offer and I created a new thread for it - http://forums.redflagdeals.com/shutt...-04-a-1360629/
